my phone buzzed on my desk while i was trying to study mandarin. i sighed and checked the notification. it was. a text from wooyoung.

contemplating if i should answer or not, i chewed on the end of my pen. i just couldn't help it; i answered.

i sighed and i put my phone down, a little grin growing on my face involuntarily.

he didn't take too long to arrive. wooyoung knocked once then entered suddenly. i glanced at him, still practicing my mandarin, and waved.

wooyoung whined, "aw, don't ignore me. i came to see you."

"well, here i am. i told you that you came at a bad time," i stubbornly said.

he strided over to me and closed my textbook. when i looked at him, wooyoung squat down beside my seat and smiled.

"learning a new language, huh?" he asked, impressed by it. "how do you say 'you're beautiful' in mandarin?"

i rolled my eyes and laughed a little. "smooth, but back up. you smell like a fast food restaurant."

"so you're saying i smell delicious?" wooyoung chuckled. "i didn't know you thought of me like that, babe."

"oh, you— don't call me babe!"

"we obviously like each other and i don't think you're mad at me anymore, so why do you always deny it, babe?"

"you sound so sure," i felt a little flustered now and looked away. he was confident about it because it was true.

"because i'm not wrong." he stood up again and towered above me. "joha,"

"hm?"

"will you be my girlfriend?"

i gulped. i hesitantly told him, "i hate you, but... y-yes."

a bright smile appeared on his face suddenly. he stepped forward and made me stand from my desk seat, wrapping his arms around me in a hug.
