New years

It's New Year's Eve, the time is an hour to mind-night. It's a happy occasion for most partying in this spectacular London hall with hundreds of guest dancing their way through to the new year. Tables were surrounding the huge dance floor and both Helena and Johnny had brought the kids along to celebrate with them. Now they were both a little older it was only right to make it a family affair. After all both Johnny and Helena hadn't missed one of these glitzy New Years balls and they weren't going to start now either....

Sitting across from his daughter Nell and her boyfriend Ben, Johnny couldn't help but let his evening revolve around watching them closely. He didn't like the idea of his little girl having a boyfriend at just the age of 15 she was far to young in his eyes to even considering thinking about boys. Helena however thought the idea was cute and didn't stop Nell from inviting Ben along to their New Years celebrations.

Billy was sat beside his father his head in his hands looking bored out of his mind. He also was watching Nell giggling away with Ben and couldn't help but turn his nose up too.

"Look at the pair of you looking so glum" Helena giggled making her way over to their table and plonking herself next to Johnny. She smirked towards her husband already quite merry and kissed his cheek before giggling again.

"My two boys should be celebrating...its New Years after all" she said topping up Johnny's wine glass with the bottle of red wine sat in the centre of the table.

Johnny smiled towards her and ran his arm around her waist before pulling her chin towards him so he could kiss her sweetly on the lips.

"Ugh...really?" Billy groaned turning his nose up at the sight which had Helena giggling against Johnny's lips. Breaking away she smiled lovingly at him and placed her hand on his knee before looking at her embarrassed son.

"Sorry sweetie" she said still not hiding the cheeky grin that seemed to tug at her lips. Johnny couldn't help but feel a lot more relaxed. Helena was just so sweet and adorable, she had such a calming affect on him.

"Bad enough with Nell" Billy said folding his arms and glancing at Nell who was to busy laughing away with Ben to pay attention to what was going on around her.

Helena glances over at the pair of them and smiled "it's rather sweet"

"Or worrying" Johnny muttered sipping at the drink she had just poured for him. Narrowing her eyes on her husband Helena shook her head. "Don't you start being all possessive"

"I'm not, I just don't like the idea that all...and if he thinks he's going to kiss her at 12 then he has another thing coming" Johnny stated like the protective father he was. Helena could only roll her eyes and shake her head again.

"Johnny everyone deserves a sweet little kiss on New Years, it would be rather romantic for Nell..."

"Hel, she's only 15!" He said shocked she was allowing this. How drunk was she?

"Oh okay and you're telling me you didn't go round kissing girls at that age?" She scoffed to which Billy huffed and leaned back in his chair in defeat knowing they would start bickering now.

"That's different!"

"How exactly? How about if that was us? And my father was watching over you like a hawk" she stated raising her eyebrows knowingly.

"I'd have respect for your fathers wishes" he said causing her to scoff and laugh.

"Bullshit!" She exclaimed louder then expected that caused a few people to glance their way. Biting her lip to stifle her giggles Helena leaned in closer to him so she wasn't so loud. "You're honestly saying you wouldn't have kissed me if we were that age?" She whispered looking into his eyes cheekily whilst running her index finger along his strong jaw.

"Wouldn't have been tempted" she whispered seductively making him glance at her warningly.

"I don't want that boy kissing our daughter" he said changing the subject and glaring off to look at Ben chatting up his daughter. Rolling her eyes again Helena stood back up slowly.

"Nellie sweetheart can I borrow you for a moment" she called over to her daughter who glanced between her fathers stern eyes and her mother's soft ones.

"Ok" she excused herself and left with her mother following her through the crowd of dancing party guests. Helena took her towards the bar and ordered herself another drink and brought Nellie another Diet Coke as she wasn't old enough to drink yet.

"What is it?" She asked thanking the bar tender as he passed her the coke and her mother's one too.

"Just wanted to see if you're enjoying the evening?" Helena asked with a small knowing smile.

"Fine, although dad keeps shooting daggers towards Ben" Nell sighed to which Helena could see it was affecting her greatly.

"Do you think you might kiss at midnight?" She asked still smirking toward her noticing how Nell went completely red.

"I mean I don't know..." nell was really embraced now. "Maybe...what that be wrong?" She asked timidly to which Helena smiled and shook her head.

"Course not, rather sweet actually"

"But what about dad?" She nervously said glancing over at him noticing he was chatting to Ben. That made her stomach turn. "No he's talking to him!"

"It's fine, you leave your father to me" Helena said smiling with a naughty glint in her eye.

It was now just 1 minute to midnight. The party was still booming and even Billy of all people was enjoying himself now in fact he was up on the dance floor with some girl he had just met. Johnny had given in too and joined his wife as they partied the night away.

Giggling loudly Helena wrapped her hands around his neck pulling herself closer to him as they moved together. laughing with her Johnny ran his hands down her back just as everyone began counting down.

"10...9...8..." the crowd cheered in unison.

"Where's Nell?" He asked shouting over the crowd looking around to see if he could spot her. Helena cupped his jaw and shook her head. "She's fine baby"

"4....3....2....1 HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Everyone at the path cheered and just at that moment Johnny smiled kissing Helena sweetly on the lips. She smiled against him and kissed him back just as lovingly while she wrapped her arms tighter around his neck. She couldn't help but open her eyes over to where Nell was sitting to see Ben leaning in and giving her a sweet peck on the lips.

Breaking away Johnny noticed how her eyes were focused on someone behind him and he frowned towards her. "Everything alright?" He was about to turn his head only Helena cupped his jaw quickly and kissed him again.

"Perfect" she said breaking away to see him smiling at her. One day Johnny would have to except his baby girl would be all grown up, for now Helena kept her promise to Nell and made sure he wouldn't find anything out yet.
