"Oh, hey. I didn't see you there." Sky said sheepishly with a light brushing of pink on his cheeks.

I smiled back nervously. "Oof sorry, my bad."

We stood in awkward silence for what seemed to be forever, but in reality was probably only a minute. (One minute too long, if you ask me.)

"Did you want to grab a good book to read and have me draw you?" Sky asked, breaking the silence.

"I got a new camera and was about to call you if you wanted to take another walk in the park with me." I said at the same time, causing the both of us to laugh after another moment of silence passed between us.

"How about we head to the cafe and I draw you, and then we take another walk in the park like last time?"

I nodded. "Sounds good."

And so we were on our way, heading off to the cafe. I felt strangely bubbly and happier than usual, which was puzzling. I brushed it aside as we sat at our usual table, with me staring out the window and Sky drawing with a look of concentration on his face before stopping and turning the page.

"Actually, I wanted to try something different." he said shyly.

"And what's that?"

"Could you maybe...face me this time? Instead of me drawing your profile or you looking out somewhere? I want to draw your face."

I hesitated for a moment before nodding and facing Sky instead of the window like I usually did, and Sky began moving his pencil on the paper again. I was curious as to why he would ask to change up the scenery, but then it was an artist's job to capture every angle of something, wasn't it?

"..aaand there we go!" Sky flourished once he had finished.

He showed me the drawing he made of me, and I couldn't help but stare at it in awe.

"It always amazes me at how good you are at drawing." I said with a soft smile, caressing the artwork. He had drawn me beautifully, or more beautifully than usual, if that was possible.

"I want you to have it." Sky urged, waving his hand at me when I tried to give it back to him.

I raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"Yeah...uhm....I'm going on an art trip." he answered, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and looking down at the table as he fiddled with the pencil he held in his hands.

I raised the other eyebrow. "Oh."

Another moment of silence passed between us before I broke it. "So is that why you wanted to draw me again and give me the drawing?" A sympathetic smile grew on my face.

Sky looked up at me, his expression unreadable. "It's a chance of a lifetime, and it's going to take a few weeks--two to three months, even--and I wanted you to have something. Anything."

I placed a hand on top of his intertwined ones as he leaned on the table, his elbows supporting his weight, and gave him a reassuring grin. "It's beautiful. I'm going to frame this."

Yeah, those two and a half months without Sky were boring. I didn't realize how much Sky had filled up the empty, boring holes in my life. Let me recap from the week before he came back home:

I remember that exactly a week before Sky had come back, I had woken up and done my usual morning routine, deciding to stay home that day. I prepared my warm drink and as I stood by the counter waiting for the hot water to boil, my eyes wandered around the room and landed on the drawing of me that Sky gave to me. It became habit for me, I guess. I would wake up, prepare my drink, and look at the drawing until the kettle beeped, signaling the water was finished boiling.

This time, I walked over to the drawing and examined it again, taking in every detail that the pencil made. I ignored the kettle when it went off, choosing to stare at the artwork instead. Only when I ran my finger down the glass did I feel a tear fall and realize how much I loved Sky.

Little did I know, a certain red-headed somebody felt the same way.

I had gotten a text from Sky later that day wondering if I was up to picking him up from the airport. I immediately responded, accepting his request and giddily smiling as I fell back onto the couch.

I drove to the airport a half hour before he claimed he would land, trying my best not to freak out. I was seriously doubting myself and telling myself to get a grip, but I was too excited to see my newfound best friend again after two and a half long months.

I quickly parked and headed inside, quickly finding the gate that Sky would be getting out of. I hurried as fast as I could, and right when I turned to the waiting area, I saw Sky walking out of the tunnel and looking around.

"SKY!" I called, waving as I ran to him. His head whipped in my direction and the biggest smile I had ever seen him smile spread across his face as he ran towards me, and met me halfway, dropping his bags and suitcase before engulfing me in a bone-crushing hug.

"I missed you so much." he muttered into my hair.

I smiled as I leaned back from the hug to get a better look at him. He looked so happy. "I missed you too."

I stared at his face, the two of us looking at each other in silence. Then, I don't know what came over me but I suddenly cupped his face with my hands and pressed my lips against his.

Just as quickly as I had kissed him, I pulled away from the kiss and stepped back, shaking my head.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry." I apologized. "I don't know why I did that."

Sky smiled and pulled me closer to him. "It's okay, because I love you too. I never would've had the guts to tell you myself; I'm too chicken to do that."

My smile from earlier returned as he pulled me in for another kiss. Who knew a simple request to draw an "aesthetically pleasing" person could lead to this?

When we broke apart, Sky picked up his suitcase as I grabbed his bags. "Sooo...." he began. "Drawing at the cafe, just like old times?"

I nodded as I leaned my head on his arm. "Just like old times."

Yey! I got the second part out!
