"But Kent, what do you mean I should stay at the cave?" I ask, confused. He's standing in front of me, looking into my eyes. "Fate and I both agreed that living at the cave with the team for a little bit would be good for you." He says, a small, sad smile placed upon his kind face. "But why?" I ask. He sighs.
"Esmeralda, my dear. Fate can do many things, but he can not take away your anger. You've come a long way from where you used to be, but we both think spending time with people your own age will help even more." "Kent, Dr. Fate is closer to being my age than any of those kids are." I reply. "Physically, dear. Not mentally nor emotionally. You are still a teenager after all." He replies. I sigh.
"Okay. Alright. I'll go, but I want to still be able to come over and visit." I say, giving in. He raises his hands up in defense. "I couldn't ask for anything more." He tells me. I give him a hug before leaving to go pack some necessities from my room.

(Two hours later)

All my things from the tower are in my new room in the cave, and I'm standing in the middle of the training floor with Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Superboy as Robin and Kid Flash are Zeta Beamed into the cave. They come running up to us, completely excited to see if we have a mission. "Did you ask him?" "What did he say?" They ask, reaching us. I turn to look at them. "He's arriving now." Aqualad says. You can see the excitement in his eyes. "Then what are we waiting for?" Kid Flash says, running.
They all start running over to where Red Tornado is arriving, while Im left behind, walking. I know that they're excited about getting a mission, but Red Tornado isn't going to be the one to give it to us.

"You'll be tested soon enough." Red states, raising his hand to cease Robin's complaint. "For the time being, simply enjoy each other's company." "This team is not a social club." Aqualad says. "No, but I am told social interaction is an important team-building exercise. Perhaps you can keep busy by familiarizing yourself with the cave." He goes to walk away.
"Keep busy." Kid says, annoyed. "Does he think we're falling for this?" Robin asks. Miss M gasps, "Oh, I'll find out." She turns to stare at him intensely. She sighs. "I'm sorry. I forgot he's a machine, inorganic. I cannot read his mind." She says. "Nice try, though." Kid says, "So, uh, you know what I'm thinkin' right now?" He asks, flirting. I roll my eyes. It had only taken me five minutes of meeting him to figure out that he was a major flirt. Although, he hasn't even tried to flirt with me, much.
"We all know what you're thinkin' now." Robin states, elbowing him in the back. "Ow." I look at Aqualad, his aura, as the other two boys', grew a little darker in annoyance. "And now we tour the clubhouse."
"It could be worse." I state. They all look at me. "Looking around would be beneficial for me, since I'll be living here for a while." Miss M smiles, stepping closer to me. "Well, Superboy and I've lived here for a bit now. We can play tour guides." She suggests. Wally and Robin look at Superboy. "Don't look at me." He tells us.
"We won't. A private tour sounds much more fun." Kid says, leaning in towards Miss M. "Sh-she never said private." Robin says, annoyed. "Team building. We'll all go."
Aqualad says. Miss M begins as we start walking back inside, "So, this would be our front door..."
We walked all over the cave. At one point, we were walking in front of my room. "Oh, there it is." I say, absentmindedly. They all look at me. "I got lost looking for my room earlier." I state, walking on. I can feel them staring at my back. "Keep staring, and your eyes will burn out." I say as we continue walking. "And this would be the back door. The cave is actually the entire mountain." Miss M finishes. "The cave was hollowed out by Superman and Green Lantern in the early days of the League." Kid explains.
"Then why abandon it for the Hall of Justice?" Superboy asks. "The cave's secret location was compromised." Aqualad answers. "So they traded it in for a tourist trap? Yeah, that makes sense." "If villains know of the cave, we must be on constant alert." Miss M says. Robin takes her hand, making her look at him. "The bad guys know we know they know about the place, so they'd never think to look here." He says.
"Uh, he means we're hiding in plain sight." Kid clarifies. I roll my eyes. "Ah, that's much clearer." She says. "Not like we need to worry about intruders anyway." I say, crossing my arms. "Why's that?" Miss M asks. "I can sense auras and people, and can hear heartbeats from a mielé away." I say, walking down the steps.
Superboy sniffs. "I smell smoke." Miss M gasps. "My cookies!" She takes off flying towards the kitchen, and we all follow after her. I'm walking faster than everyone else and actually beat Miss M to the oven. I open it and take the pan of burnt crisps out, hearing gasps behind me. I turn around and set the now inedible food on the counter.
"How can you do that? Didn't that burn your hands?" Kid asks. "I have a high heat tolerance. Where I'm from, the average temperature would be, maybe, 500 degrees." I state. Miss M stares at the pan and sighs. "I was trying out Grammy Jones recipe from episode 17 of- Heh. Nevermind." She stops herself from continuing.
"I bet they'd have tasted great." Robin states, trying to make her feel better. "He doesn't seem to mind." I look over to see Kid Flash eating the burnt crisps. "I have a serious metabolism." He answers. I roll my eyes, grabbing one to take a bite. It's bitter, and I immediately put it back down. "Hmm. My taste seems to have changed." I mutter.
"I'll make more?" She questions, confused slightly. "It was sweet of you to make any." "Thanks, Aqualad." She answers, rubbing her arm. "We're off duty. Call me Kaldur'ahm. Actually, my friends call me Kaldur." He states. Hmm. Good to know.
