"Stay close to J'onn." Robin tells M'gann as he scouts out the area surrounding the mothership. "He's still..." He waves his hand in a maybe, maybe kinda way. She nods. "First team, deploy." Robin calls out. Both Martians and I fly up into the sky. They both go into camo mode, and place the hood of my cloak over my head, managing to hide my white hair while still being able to fly.

We manage to get past the guns. I wait on the outside as Manhunter takes Miss M through the wall, then comes back for me. It feels weird, density shifting. It's like being pulled through pudding, but harder. By the time I'm on the other side, my head is hurting painfully.

'Ready, in position.' Miss M tells the others. The entire structure shakes as I'm guessing Superboy begins his attack. We make our way to find the doors where the drones take off, and see Robin and Kid about to get blasted. Miss Martian throws the first thing she sees at the small bot. Once the two boys sees us, we all head running to find the others. That is, until M'gann collapses into Manhunter. We all turn around to see what's wrong.

'No. He's gone.' She says, straightening up. She falls to her knees. Wally and I kneel down in front of her, placing a hand on both her shoulders. 'It's alright. We'll find him with Artemis. I know it.' Kid tells her. 'No. My mind is clearer now.' Manhunter tells us, and I straighten up. 'The disintegration beam is exactly that. There is no detention facility, no prisoners to rescue. Our mission holds no purpose.' My eyes widen.

'No, you're wrong.' Wally argues, grabbing hold of his collar. 'Y-you're lying.' I state, taking a step away. 'The zeta radiation proves she's alive. She's-' Wally continues. Robin comes up and grabs hold of both of Wally's shoulders, turning Wally to face him. 'Stop it, KF. I've been scanning for League and team signals since we got inside. They're not here. Artemis is gone.' I stumble over my feet as I back away, my back hitting the wall. I lean against it, the others turning to face me.

My anger builds up, and I turn and punch the wall, leaving a crater in it. I punch and kick it, ignoring the tears in my eyes. I go to take another punch, but a hand around my arm stops me. I twist to see Robin. My anger disperses, and I look down. I lean against the wall again, sliding down to the floor. A quiet sob leaves my throat. 'It's my fault...' I think.

'Emma?' Miss M asks. I look up to her, and they all stare in shock at the tears in my eyes. 'He's gone. It's my fault. Kaldur's gone and I'm the one to blame. I threw him off guard.' Another sob escapes my throat. 'Why did I even- Why wasn't I the last one through the zeta-tube? It should've been me, not him!'

'Emma, get ahold of yourself. Yes, they're gone, but there's nothing we can do for them now. Our mission may have changed, but it still holds purpose, to destroy this mothership.' I nod, and both Megan and I stand up. I wipe the tears from my eyes.

Just then, a blast comes from behind the Martians. We turn to see a small group of bots coming towards us. I instantly light fireballs in my hands. I throw them at the ground feet in front of me, then raise my hands up into the air, using my pyrokinesis to create a wall of fire to block off the bots.

'You guys go on ahead. I'll catch up.' I tell them. 'No. We're not leaving you.' Miss M states. 'If you don't go, and we all get shot, other people will have to risk their lives in order to get as far as we have. Do you really want more lives lost to this cause?' I reason. It's silent, and I turn to them, one arm still up in the air. "Go. I'll be fine. Go make them proud." I say, a small smile facing them. They leave, reluctantly.

I turn back to the wall of fire as they turn the corner. I lower the wall down and let the flames spread across the floor. The bots come flying closer, their shots getting better and closer to hitting me. Anger envelopes me as I think over the events of today. I don't try to hold back. My skin melts away to reveal my scales, the fire starting in my hands again grows as it climbs up my scaled arms, encasing my entire body. My hair turns midnight black.

My tail grows out, and my wings widen, and my hands melt into claws, razor sharp and ready for ripping. My flames turn blue, purple, and then finally, black. With a scream of rage, I throw my hands up in the air. The fire on the floor goes up again, and explosions go off as the bots inside are destroyed. I lower it, and it disappears. I instantly jump at the closest bot, ripping off it's small disintegration gun before swinging it around and letting go. It flies, and crashes into two others, and I barely see the one coming up on my right. Before I can even move, it shoots a blast at me. I scream, before the world fades to black.
