A Dragon's Love (Young Justice)

Yellowstone

"Block out all external communications." Kaldur orders as we're flying once again in the bioship. "Soon, Canary and Zatara -Batman, too, I imagine- will know of our visit with Professor Ivo. We haven't much time." "Look." Robin chuckles, looking at Zatanna, "I'm trying to be all nonchalant here." "Why? Be as chalant as you like." She tells him. Yep. They're perfect for each other. I think. M'gann gives me a look, and I can tell that she heard my thoughts. We smile at each other.

"I think we're all just trying to get a handle on your powers. Could you teleport us to Tornado, or Morrow to a cell, or force his bots to surrender?" Artemis asks. "Or create peace on earth for all time?" Zatanna asks. "Zatara couldn't even do all that, and I'm nowhere near on my dad's level. I need to know a spell cold, or else have time to prep it. Plus, all magic requires energy, which usually has to come from within. I just can't make the impossible happen at will." She explains. "Don't worry. Dr. Fate couldn't even do that, trust me, I would know. But if it makes you feel better, I think you're doing a good job." I say, looking out of the window. I sense her smile at me.

"What's our E.T.A. to Yellowstone? I'm way past ready to stuff Tornado into a trash compactor." Superboy states, angrily. "Are you so certain he betrayed us?" Kaldur asks. "Aren't you?" He fires back. "Careful, Superboy. Anger clouds the mind from logical judgement." I advise. "I am not convinced." Kaldur continues, "And even so, that makes him but the victim of his creator's programming. Certainly, he deserves a chance to prove he's more than the weapon others designed him to be." Superboy closes his eyes and sits forwards again.

Soon enough, we reach Yellowstone, landing. "Stealth mode." Aqualad orders, tapping the Atlantian symbol on his belt. The red in his suit melts to black, and he glances at me as I place my hood over my head once more. We walk over to Zatanna by the door. "I recommend you stay behind." Kaldur advises.

"Is that an order?" She asks. "No." I say. "You must do as you see fit." Kaldur explains. "Good." She says, before speaking in latin once more. Her outfit transforms into the one she wore when she arrived at the cave earlier today. "I have to admit. That's pretty impressive." I say. "Why, thank you."

We all run to the edge of a clearing, watching as Robin pulled up a hologram on his glove. "Ivo was right. Something's down there." He tells us. Aqualad starts running out into the clearing, and we all follow him. Then, strong winds start picking up around us. It blows us all back. High in the air, Red Tornado is looking down on us, arms crossed.

"Why, Tornado? Why are you doing this?" Miss M calls out to him. We receive no answer, but more twisters appear. Wait a minute... He writes something in the sand. 'Message received?' M'gann asks through link. "Who cares why? Nail him!" Superboy shouts. He runs forward, Kaldur going after him. I quickly follow after. "Superboy! Maneuver 7!" He calls out.

Superboy turns around and cups his hands together. Kaldur steps into them, and Superboy throws him up in the air. He does the same for me, and I go soaring higher than Aqualad. He quickly gets shot down with a punch from Tornado, then he grabs my wrist as I'm about to slash at him. He twists around, lets me go, and I land back on the ground. I keep my eyes closed as I hear everyone else fall down as well. Then, all I hear is the wind from the twisters.
