Heres some more background information about Sooyin, although she was born in Busan, she isn't a full Korean. Her father is Korean, but her mother is half Korean and half Chinese. And because of that Sooyin is fluent in Chinese since she's been talking to her mother in that language since little.
This was Sooyin's first year celebrating the Lunar New Years away from home, the previous years she would go back home and celebrate with her family. But this year she had to work on new songs, dances and the new album.
But she didn't let this ruin her New Year spirit. This year, she was gonna surprise the boys with a day full of Lunar New Years activities.
It was currently 3 am, all the boys were still asleep, except for Sooyin and dusty.
In Chinese culture the color red means happiness. But it is also strictly forbidden to write names in red as previously the names of the dead were written in red so it may be considered offensive.
On Chinese New Year, we like to hang red lanterns as it is believed to drive off bad luck.
Door Couplets, also known as 对联 (duìlián) are stuck pasted on doors, the writing on them are wishes or statements.
Paper cuttings are pasted on doors and windows, usually different animals or fruits that symbolizes something are cut out on them, and a few characters as well.
