CHAPTER 56

When I woke up, I rubbed my eyes with my hands. That was a one good sleep. I even stretched my arms outward. I was kind of half awake. I tried to make my brain function and get my thoughts straight, and that was when I realized what happened. Somebody kidnapped me!

Agad agad akong napabangon. I checked myself, kumpleto pa naman ang suot ko – maliban sa heels kong wala na sa paa ko ngayon. I looked around the room and tried to find my bag so that I could call Marcus, or someone else. But then, I realized that I left the building with nothing. I left the building out of frustration from Marcus. Damn! Kasalanan nya ito!

I burried my face against my palms. But wait, my hands and feet are free – hindi ako nakatali. I was a bit confused. The room was elegant too. Nakapatong ako ngayon sa queensized bed, may wall TV pa, may aircon, may life-size mirror, may built-in closet, at may isang pintuan sa bandang gilid – which is I guess, CR iyon. May double door din na pintuan, iyon ang daan palabas, sigurado ako. I was about to get out of the bed when the door opened.

"Natalia.." a familiar voice called.

Natigilan ako nang nakita ko sya. I was damn surprised, happy, confused – I do not know! "Kim?"

Tumango ito at lumapit sakin. I was unable to move. I was too shocked. But what surprised me the most is seeing who is behind her. He was wearing his blank face as he walks behind her. Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Napatayo ako.

"A-anong ibig sabihin nito?" Nanginginig kong tanong.

"Nat.." Kim started. I didn't know if it was the light or is it just talagang naluluha sya.

"Wala akong maintindihan!" Medyo napataas ang tono ko. I was mad. I was confused. I was.. I do not know.

"We need to talk." Aniya tapos ay tumingin ito sa likod nya. "Greg." She said.

Tinignan naman ni Greg ang kanyang mamahaling relo bago nagsalita. "Fifteen minutes. We need to leave this place as soon as possible." Aniya bago sya lumakad papalabas.

Huminga ng malalim si Kim at nilingon ako ngunit ako na ang unang nagsalita. "What's happening?"

Umupo muna ito sa gilid ng kama tapos ay yumuko. "We're leaving."

"What?"

Tinignan nya ako tapos ay muli itong nagsalita. "We have to leave."

"Ano?" Hindi makapaniwala kong sabi. "One day, I just saw you at the mall and then you kidnapped me hours ago and then now you're telling me you're leaving? Ano to? Joke?" Sarcastic kong sabi sakanya.

"At least I am letting you know that I'm leaving, at least I am leaving you with good bye. Kesa naman sa wala." Sumbat nito.

Guilt suddenly ran across my body. She has a point there. Kumpara sa ginawa ko dati, mas maigi pa itong ginawa nya. At least she has the guts to say good bye. But damn, it breaks my heart.

"Pero bakit?" Tanong ko sakanya.

"Maraming nagbago noong nawala ka." She started. "Gregory hated me. He despised me to the point that he wanted me death." Napasinghap naman ako sa sinabi ni Kim tungkol sa pinsan ko. I know for a fact that Greg could kill people, but someone he loves – or loved? Parang imposible. "The mafia helped me, the mafia covered for me. They had been protective. And Felix.. he.. he had been my knight. We became closer. A-and.." She trailed off.
