That Infamous Girl

I remember getting inside his car not knowing where we were headed.

I've been through so much and I just wanted to escape. I wanted to breathe.

We didn't really talk inside his car because a few minutes after I sat in the passenger seat, I immediately fell asleep.

Waking up, the only thing I could hear was the sound of engine and a silent breathing. I could also feel the gentle wind from the air conditioner blowing over my face... and a pair of eyes staring at me.

Slowly opening my eyes, a pair of dark orbs met mine. Umiwas ako ng tingin at marahan akong umayos sa kinasasandalan ko. I was still inside his car with him sitting on the driver's seat.

Hindi ko alam kung nasaan ako ngayon. Ngunit hindi ako nakaramdam ng kahit anong pangamba. It was as if things were simply okay even if I do things on impulse.

When I went with him, hindi ako nag-alinlangan. Something is really wrong with me or maybe things have changed ever since I met him.

"Let's go," Pinatay nito ang makina at lumabas na ng sasakyan. Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago sumunod.

May kinuha pa ito sa backseat at nakita kong ang ilan dito ay may mga pagkain na laman, meron din siyang iba pang paperbag na hawak sa kabilang kamay nito. Maybe he stopped somewhere and I didn't notice because I was sleeping or maybe it was already there when I went in. I don't really know.

I was silently following him from behind. Nakita ko rin ang bahay sa aming harapan, may second floor ito and it looks modern in design, rustic. The ground around the house was also covered in grass it seems well maintained.

Nang makapasok naman kami ay bumungad sakin ang open living room at tanaw ang second floor mula dito.

There's a touch of wood everywhere at ang ganda nito at nagmamatch sa puting wall. Walang masyadong gamit ito bukod sa set ng couch at ilang mga display pieces for the interior. Meron ding flat screen tv na nakadikit sa stone wall nito. The wall in the right side of the living room is also glass and you can see the trees outside.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Vacation house." Maiksing sagot nito.

Tahimik ko lang itong sinundan hanggang sa makarating ito sa kitchen. Inilipag nito ang dalang mga gamit sa bar counter at humarap sa akin.

"Here," Iniabot nito sakin ang apat na paperbag habang nagtataka ko itong tinignan.

"Change first while I cook." Agad na napataas ang kanang kilay ko dahil sa sinabi niya.

"You cook?"

"Obviously." He simply said. "You can go upstairs and change, dulong room sa second floor."

I followed what he said and made my way towards the the second floor, you can see the first floor from here since it's an open space. Nang makarating ako doon ay napansin kong meron itong apat na room sa taas, sinunod ko lang ang sinabi niya at nagpunta sa pinakadulong room.

Nang makapasok ako dito at mabuksan ang ilaw, there's a queen size white bed and a night lamp on its side table. Agad ko ring hinawi ang blackout curtains which revealed that the other side of the room is also made of glass.

Meron din itong sariling balcony. Lumabas ako rito habang rinig ko ang mahinang paghampas ng alon mula sa di kalayuan. Tanaw dito ang asul na dagat na nahahaluan ng kahel dulot ng papalapit na paglubog ng araw. There was also a pavement leading towards the shore with distant lights to guide the way. I smiled in awe.
