CH 8: Meeting Super Junior

I continued to sit on the ground by the front door trying to wrap my head around everything. I just found out that the first friend I made in Korea is a member of one of the biggest kpop groups in the world. How am I suppose to feel about this?

The longer I thought about this, the more I came to realize there were so many signs that I should've seen.

When I first met Eunhyuk at the airport and he took off his mask, he looked around cautiously to see if anyone saw him.

Then when we were going shopping, he made me put on a hat and sunglasses to protect me from the media if he was recognized.

I slapped myself in the face and said, "How could you be so stupid Ava! How did you not see any of those signs!"

I felt like an idiot as I pulled myself together and got up. I headed towards the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. As I was drinking, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I looked and saw I got a text from Eunhyuk, making me almost choke on my water with what he said.

"Hey. I didn't see you in the waiting room when I came back."

I put down the glass of water and hesitated on whether I should answer. After a couple minutes of thinking, I decided to text him back.

"Mianhae, something came up and I had to leave."

"Don't be sorry, I should be the one apologizing. You found out didn't you?"

I held my breath from him text. It never dawned on me how Eunhyuk must feel about all this. He must feel terrible for keeping a secret that big from someone. It took me a couple minutes to answer because I didn't know what to say back.

"It's okay. Don't expect me to treat you differently."

"Haha I won't. Are you free tonight? I'd really like to clear everything up between us in person and not over text."

I suddenly felt my heart beating fast. He wanted to meet up with me? I took a deep breath and began typing.

"Sure! Where are we going? A back alley where no one can recognize you?" I joked.

"Lol no, it'll be a surprise. I'll pick you up at 7."

"Alright, see you then!" I texted as I leaned back on my counter anticipating tonight.

~A few hours later~

I was just putting my keys into my purse when I heard my doorbell. I ran up to the door and looked through the peep hole to see Eunhyuk standing there. I opened the door and gave him a big smile so things wouldn't seem awkward between us.

"Hi Eunhyuk!" I said happily as I walked out the door and locked it behind me.

I looked back at Eunhyuk to see a mix of relief and worry on his face. I bet he was nervous I would think and treat him differently even though I said I wouldn't, but I was determined to treat him like I never found out about his secret.

"It's really great to see you Ava." Eunhyuk said leading me downstairs to his car.

We got into his car and we drove a couple blocks away to a building with a huge crowd in front. I looked at him confused as we pulled into the back parking lot.

"Okay, try to be very quiet as we quickly go into that back door okay? And keep your head down." Eunhyuk said pushing me out of the car.

He motioned me to move towards the door first and gave me the key to unlock the door. I unlocked it and stood in the doorway waiting for Eunhyuk as he was still sitting in his car. He then opened the door and casually got out and closed the door.

"Eunhyuk-oppa!" We heard a girl from the streets yell as I could see a wave of fangirls running towards Eunhyuk.

Eunhyuk then sprinted towards the door and quickly shut it before the fangirls could reach him. The door locked and Eunhyuk stood there holding is heart out of breath. I smiled at him and patted his back.

"It's okay superstar." I said sarcastically making Eunhyuk chuckle.

Eunhyuk lead me up a couple flights of stairs and we soon reached a long hallway. He lead me down the hallway and into one of the rooms at the end of the hall. We walked in to see about 9 other guys all stretching and warming up in front of a wall of mirrors. They all turned around and looked as us when we walked in. A few of them gave me smiles and a few of them gave me confused looks.

"Sorry I'm late guys." Eunhyuk said leading me over to a couch on the side of the room.

"Everyone, this is Ava. You might've seen her in our waiting room at Inkigayo earlier today." Eunhyuk said taking off his jacket and putting on the floor next to the couch.

Everyone started to walk over to me and started introducing themselves and shaking my hand.

"So that's everyone." Eunhyuk said after everyone told me their names.

"It's nice to meet you all, but am I interrupting your practice?" I asked.

"Oh no it's okay. You can just sit here while we practice, it's no big deal." Leeteuk said calling the other members over.

As I took my seat, I noticed Donghae giving me a dirty look as he walked over to the other members. I decided to look the other way to try and make it look like I didn't notice, but when I turned my head back, he was still looking at me and then rolled his eyes.

"What did I do to upset you?" I said to myself as everyone started stretching and warming up.

Soon music started playing and all of them started dancing in unison. Watching all of them work together so well was really an amazing experience. As they were all dancing, a few people caught my eye, or maybe they caught mine.

I could see Siwon and Donghae looking at me through the mirror. Donghae looked like he was just irritated with me the whole time while Siwon was smiling and winking at me, making me blush. Once their practice ended, Eunhyuk walked over to me.

"So what'd you think?" He said helping me up.

"It was amazing! You guys dance really well together." I said giving Eunhyuk a high five.

Eunhyuk smiled as Shindong came up and patted Eunhyuk on the back.

"Good job today Hyuk. Are you coming?" Shindong said heading for the door.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh the company is just giving us a little dinner down the hall to congratulate us on our all kill for Mamacita. Do you want to go? I mean, you don't have to, I could always drop you off at home."

"Are you kidding me? When will I ever get another chance to eat with celebrities? Kaja!" I said grabbing Eunhyuk's wrist and running out the door excited.
