As I took a sip of the flask Jamie offered me Hugh said something again.
"Sure, bridle gift," Jamie looked at me as Hugh took something out of his sporran and cleaned it on his sleeve.
"That is so kind," I said with a smile. "Thank you,"
Hugh officially handed me over the gift and as I took it I saw a beautiful amber stone with a fossil dragonfly in it.
"This is beautiful," I whiped my finger over the surface. "Thank you," I said again.
"Welcome," it came out as struggle but he tried his best.
"Gone official have ye?" Jamie asked. "Or are they just for when the game is scarce?" I looked up from the gemstone and saw Jamie getting some coins of the chest of Hugh.
"Gaberlunzie tokens?" I asked in suprised and Jamie looked at me in the same way.
"Aye, ye ken them?" He asked.
I studied them yes but I couldn't say that.
"We have a similar thing in the Dutch Republic," I lied and he smiled.
"Ofcourse," he looked back at Hugh.
"You have dozen by mine count," I said and the started to laugh.
"Weel, munro is a special trial. Ye see. He wis captured by th' Turks at sea. Spent a guid mony years as a slave in Algiers," Jamie started the life story of Hugh. "That's whaur he lost his tongue,"
"Cut it out?" I asked in horror and Hugh nodded. "Christ that is horrible." I felt pity for this kind man.
"'n' poured hot boolin' oil oan his legs. Tis howfur thay forced captive Christians convert tae th' Mussulmen religion," Jamie explained and saw indeed through the rips of his pants red flesh. Hugh made a cross. "Said ye came wi' news," Jamie made the story go into another direction and then it was all sign language that I didn't understand and I wandered of with my mind.
"What's his name?" I heared Jamie ask and my attetion was back.
"Ha... Harack," Hugh tried to answer.
"Harrack?" Jamie asked confused and Hugh took a stone.
"Horrock?" I asked and Hugh shook his head and picked up another stone.
"Horrocks?" Jamie asked and Hugh nodded. "When and where does this Horrocks wants to meet?"
Hugh signed again and Jamie looked at me, while nodding.
"All right," Jamie took Hugh' arm with a smile and they both stood up. "Thank you, thank you Kindly Hugh," Jamie made a sign which Hugh followed.
I also stood up. "Nice to meet you Hugh and thank you again for the present." He nodded and then walked away.
"Thare is a chaynge tae get th' price is lifted aff mah heid," Jamie started. "Thare is a witness wha kin prove mah innocence."
I turned towards him. "Oh Jamie that is fantastic," I said and I pressed a kiss on his lips as he wrapped his arms around my middle.
"Bit ah am not sure ah kin trust him," Jamie spoke against me.
"Is it this Horrocks?" I asked curiously and he nodded.
"A redcoat deserter," Jamie said and mine breath stoked. "Bit if thare is a change ah kin finally gang hame. Bring ye hame, mah bride Greer Fraser, lady o' Lallybroch." He took mine chin between his fingers and pressed a kiss on mine lips and than let me go to give me a tight embrace.
Yes Lallybroch was his home. He told me all about during our weddingnight. But was it also my home? My home still laid in the 21th century or was I prepared to give it all up for this man, which I started to feel more for than I should.Sexual content
Later that night we said away from the group who said down by the bonfire listening to the story Rupert was telling about a waterhorse who abducted a woman.
Jamie and I sat close to eachother. Our hands intertwined and playing with it.
"Be yuletime, by the time we are back at Lallybroch," Jamie broke the silence.
"Christmas..." I sighted. "I don't suppose you hanging stockings by the fire and decorate a christmas tree."
"The stockings to dry them off ye mean?" Jamie asked confused.
"Never mind," I laughed as I look down.
Suddenly the horse started to shift and making noises. Jamie looked at them and than at Dougal.
"Whin ah say go, gang behind that rock. Dinnae shift 'til a'm thare." He whispered and I know what was going on. We where getting ambushed.
All the men staid relaxed but where also alarmed and ready to attack.
Jamie bowed forward and pressed a kiss on my lips. "Take this," he handed me a small dagger which I gratefully took.
Jamie looked at Murtagh and than pushed me away. "Go!"
"Mind the wagons!" Dougal screamed as I rushed towards the stones and pressed myself against the cold surface of it.
I couldn't see what was going on but the sounds didn't sound reassuring. I wanted to cling the dagger closer but I realised I dropped it when I ran off. The fighting sounds continued and my heart clenched in fear off Jamie.
The fight was shift and fast as a gunshot put an end to it and I came around the stones to look what happend.
Ned looked pretty satisfied of himself with the gun as I noticed that Jamie stood bend over with his sword in his hand.
"Greer!" Jamie rushed over to me. "Greer!"
"I'm more than okay Jamie," I assured him as he took me in his embrace. "Who where those men."
"The Grants?" Dougal answered. "Anything taken?"
Jamie lead me away and sat me down on the same spot where I was hiding. "Came 'ere," he said and he pulled me closer to kiss me deep and hard. He clearly was turned on from the fight but I couldn't join him in that.
"Jamie no," I softly pulled him away. "Not now,"
"Why?" He asked and he bended down to kiss the spot in mine neck.
"Because everybody is awake now and can hear us," I did another attempt to push him away and he gave in.
"Fine," he sighed. "We stay here to sleep." He walked down. Took over some blankets of Angus who gave him a wink and than walked back to me.
An half hour after the fight the whole camp fell in silence and I felt Jamie shifted closer to me. The adrenaline still in his bloodstream made him still hardened.
His hand moved mine dress up and letted him place his hand up mine tight and turned me over to face him.
"Shht," he softly said in mine ear as he pushed inside of me. I let out a gasp of breath that was quickly muffeld by his mouth.
He was quickly done and than laid next to me. "A love ye Greer,"
And before I could think about it I replied. "I love you too Jamie."
