I ignored Geillis again that night and the next morning we stood in the townshall again. With Ned as mine defence lawyer again. I bended towards him.
"Does Jamie knows?" I asked him and he nodded.
"I sent Ailsa and Lachlan out to find him." He gave me a wink again and than we where called at order again.
The next witness arrived and mine mouth fell open as I saw it was Laoghaire and I knew I was doomed.
"She was not Mrs. Fraser when we first met," she started her thick Scottish accent was almost gone. "She was Miss von Holland than." She started to fake cry and I rolled mine eyes. "She stole the true love of mine life away by bewitching his heart with her Dutch witchcraft. Worser than the Scottish Ye ken."
The crowd started to gasp in horror and the Judge looked at me when I huffed in protest.
"Did ye do that?" He asked me and I looked at him.
"Ofcourse not," I spoke. "I don't even know how to do that and besides." I sent a angry look at the Laoghaire. "She was the one who putted an Ill-wish under my and Jamie's pillows and tried to seduce mine husband!"
"Shut yer mouth Mrs Fraser!" The judge shut me down. "Yer embarrassing yerself by telling lies about this young woman," Mine odds of release where now gone thanks to the little bitch.
More witnesses came but even tho it was all against Geillis the crowd still wanted me to burn thanks to Laoghaire. Mine heart fell into my stomach as the verdict came closer.
"We pronounce Geillis Duncan and Greer Fraser.." a moment of silence. "Guilty and do hereby condemn them to death." Ned looked shock and I took deep breath.
Well that was it. Mine death was a cremation alive and Laoghaire finally got what she wanted even tho I knew Jamie would never choice her after what she did.
"Greer wait," Geillis took mine arm. "I think it is possible."
"What?" I asked confused.
"1968," she said which making me more confused but before I could ask further a shot was realised and I looked up to see Ned dragged down by some men still holding his gun.
"NED!" I screamed but he didn't answer. "YOUR ALL BLOODY MURDERERS! YOUR GOD CONDEMN YOU ALL!"
"Ye'll not speak this way in Court madam," the older Judge spoke as I was dragged from the platform. "Strip her and skelp her!"
I was pushed against a pole and mine dress was ripped open. Laoghaire' face appeared in mine eyeshight.
"I'll dance on yer ashes, bitch," she said with a smile and then I felt the first blow.
A scream escaped mine lips as I felt flesh rips and more blows followed. Fuelled by the yelling of the crowd.
"GREER!" a familiar voice called but I blocked it out. I wanted to die. Now. "Let her go!"
The blows suddenly stopped and I felt towards the ground. Still crying in pain.
"Sir. Ye have no way in the working of this court," The older Judge said and I felt strong arms around me.
"Ah swore an oath infront o' th' altar o' god tae protect this wifie! 'n' if ye'r telling me ye considering yer authority is greater than that o' th' almighty. Then ah mist clype ye, that ah'ament o' that opinion myself," Jamie stood up and draw his swords. "Th' foremaist jimmy tae forward is th' foremaist jimmy doon," he threatened.
Nobody stepped forward and it was completely silence beside mine sobbing.
"This woman is no witch!" Geillis called out and I looked up through mine tears. "But I am,"
"Geillis! No!" I called out with a hoarse voice. Even tho I hated her, I couldn't condemn her and her unborn child towards the stake.
Jamie helped me up as the men walked towards Geillis as she confessed the murder on her husband and blamed it on witchcraft. She suddenly ripped her sleeve down and then I saw it.
The scar of the vaccine against the smallpox vaccine, the same scar mine mother had on her arm. 1968 was no random number. She had came just like me through the stones.
"Run!" She mouthed towards us.
"Greer! Came!" Jamie tried to pull me back but I was to frozen by everything.
He still managed to drag me away from it and when we left the hall she ripped her dress open and screamed.
"This is the devil's son," and then the crowd swallowed her like flies did on a death animal.Jamie and I rode a few miles into the forest where we stopped. So Jamie could tend the wounds on mine back.
"Thair nae deep, it wull lea na scars," he comforted me as I shook with pain and shock.
He sat down next to me and he looked at me. "Greer, ah ken that thare ur hings ye didnae wish tae tell me, bit be honest wi' me noo." and I looked at him. "Are ye a witch?"
I didn't know if I had to laugh or cry. But when I took a deep breath I did the last.
"What made you think that?" I asked.
"Greer, juist answer me," he said. "A dinnae ken how come ah think it, bit mines brain tells me yer nae a ordinar wifie fae th' beginning ah met ye."
I took deep breaths. "I'm not a witch," it was bearly a whisper. "But you think I am one after I told you the truth and Jamie, I wouldn't blame you for it," I looked him in the eyes. "But know I love you."
He nodded with a swallow.
"Mine name is not Greer von Holland. But Skye Madeleine Stork." I took a deep breath. "I was born in the Netherlands only not in 1719 but on the second of March in 1994,"A/N
I wanted to keep the witch trail in so I could lead up to this. Sorry if it was boring or weird but It is important part in Outlander and I couldn't leave it out.
