"Princess, what do you think about home schooling?"

Carter spun to face her father, horrified at the words that had escaped her father's mouth, "I think you should get rid of that thought because it's not happening!"

Nolan frowned, stepping into his daughter's room, watching as she started to recount the books she'd recently covered in wrapped paper. She was paranoid that she'd forgotten something. She was finally a freshman, a high school student and she couldn't help but buzz with excitement.

"I just, I'm worried—"

Carter rolled her eyes, turning to her father, "You're worried I'm going to runaway with some senior."

Nolan scoffed, as if what she said was absolutely wrong when in all honestly, it was the total truth. Nolan knew Carter was interested in boys, he didn't miss the small comments and blushes that took place when ever she watched those series she loved so much and a guy with no shirt was seen.

He shuddered at her stepping into high school.

He knew what seniors thought, he had been one and when he was eighteen, he loved freshman because they were so easy. Well, most of them were anyway. And Nolan knew that seniors would be chasing Carter around the school. She took after him.

Carter was the definition of perfect, in Nolan's eyes. Pretty blue doe eyes. Perfect blonde hair that she always curled. And that gorgeous smile that never seemed to leave her face. Nolan almost cried at the idea of boys asking for her numbers, asking her out on dates.

Rolling her eyes, Carter turned towards her dad, "Daddy, I'm perfectly capable of resisting senior boys. I doubt I'd even like the boys there."

Nolan would have been relived at the news if he didn't know what it meant. The only boy Carter would ever like was Miles and Nolan almost started crying again. She liked a boy that was around her 24/7. A boy she's had sleepovers with.

"You're hurting my heart, Princess." Nolan grumbled out before stepping into the room. "You can take away the pain by thinking about being homeschooled."

Carter giggled, "Never going to happen so I suggest you take a few pain killers because your hearts going to be hurting until I graduate."

Nolan smirked, "I won't drop you at school."

Carter smirked back, "I'll get an Uber."

"I won't pay for that Uber."

"I'll use my own money."

"I'll put off your alarm."

"I don't care, I'm going to school whether it's 8am or 1pm."

Nolan grumbled, "Oh my gosh, Princess. Do you hate me?"

Carter giggled, "No, I love you to the moon and back."

Nolan couldn't help but smile, pulling Carter into his arms, "I wish you were four again."

Carter smiled up at her father, "Why? Because when I was four, seniors didn't care about me?"
