It's the little things

Chapter 17

Nikolai's POV

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"

Carefully untangling my arms from around Savanna I turn and grab my phone shutting off the alarm before it can wake her.

Grabbing some paper and a pen I write savanna a note letting her know I had a meeting with the border patrol and to please call me as soon as she woke up.

I get out of bed and grab some clothes going into the bathroom to change and get ready. I accidentally slam the door a little too hard while leaving the bathroom and I freak out looking towards the bed. I sigh in relief when I can still hear Savanna's little snores.

I smile and leave the room being more careful with the door this time and I go downstairs and grab a quick breakfast before getting in the car and driving towards the packs office building.

Before getting out of the car I text Lexie asking her if she can please pass by the house later to check on Sav her response comes almost immediately and she said she would love to.

Going inside I see all the warriors in charge of patrolling the borders and I greet them all politely receiving a lot of 'welcome backs' and 'congrats on finding your mate'.

As soon as we're all sitting down I look towards Leon, he's the warrior in charge of making the schedules and reporting to me if something happens.

"Any attacks while I was gone?"

"No. It was very quiet and there were no disturbances."

"That's great to hear."

I asked him about the schedules and we talked about shifts, security measures and potential future warriors. Everything seemed to be running smoothly and I really wanted to cut this meeting short so I could go home to Savanna.

It was almost noon already and she still hadn't called me, to be completely honest I was starting to worry. Finally when everything was said and the next meeting was scheduled I grab my stuff and almost ran out the door.

When I got home I opened the door and was about to call out for Savanna when I saw her, she was in the living room dressed in a stitch onesie coloring a picture. Lexie was sitting down next to her on the floor and they were chatting happily, I could hear their giggles.

Smiling I started walking closer and as soon as Savanna saw me she squealed and ran towards me jumping up and wrapping her legs around my waist. I stumbled a bit and held on to her chuckling at her cuteness.

"Hey baby! Did you miss me?"

I placed a kiss to her lips and she smiled melting into me and hiding her face in my neck while nodding. I laughed and sat down with looking at Lexie who was now up on the couch.

"Hey Lexie, thank you for coming over and watching her."

"No problem! Call me anytime I love hanging out with Sav she's a sweetheart. I gotta go now but I'll see you around ok."

"Yeah, lets see when you guys can come over for dinner, it's been awhile since we all did something together"

"Yeah of course! See you later Nick. Bye Sav!"

"Say bye to Lexie baby"

Savanna looked up and waved at Lexie smiling brightly.

"Bye-bye!! Thanks for coloring with me!"

After Lexie left we went to the kitchen and I prepared some lunch for the both of us. As we ate together I asked her about her and she went on to tell me about all the pictures she colored and drawings she made.

After we finished I carried Sav to the bathroom and gave her a nice bath dressing her in a pretty sundress and putting her hair in pigtails. She wanted lipgloss and when she gave me those puppy eyes I couldn't say no.

After taking a shower myself and getting dressed I grabbed my wallet and keys grabbing Savanna from the living room and heading out to the car.

"Where we going Daddy?"

"It's a surprise princess."

I start driving towards the coast and once we get there I park getting out of the car and going to open Savanna's door.

"We're here baby"

"Daddy this is so pretty!!!"

Squealing she gets out of the car and starts looking around everywhere. I chuckled and grabbed her hand walking towards the pier where all the boats were parked.

Walking towards the first empty boat I see I talk to the guy in italian and when he says he's available to give us a ride I get savanna into the boat.

"Woww... this is so cool!"

"I'm glad you like it baby"

The entire tour Savanna is talking and looking around excitedly while I just watch her and smile. Sadly the tour ends and we get out and walk a little around the coast. After a while when I start noticing that Savanna is getting a little tired we start heading back.

Getting in the car I drive us to a diner that's nearby and we go in to get some food.

"Thank you for taking me to the coast daddy it was so cute."

"Of course baby! I'm really glad you liked it. My parents used to bring me here anytime we had a day off."

Savanna smiles and stood up from her seat coming over to me and hugging me. I picked her up and sat her on my lap hugging her back.

"Thanks for sharing daddy. Your parents sound like very nice people"

"They were princess. I'm sure they would've loved you"

"I know my mom would've definitely loved you, that's for sure. She was a very free wolf, always going outside and going for a run. And she always wanted to visit Italy, she wouldn't stop talking about it. "
Savanna giggled at the fond memory and laid her head on my shoulder.

At that moment our food arrived and while we ate we shared more stories of our parents.

We went home after that and as soon as we got there we showered and collapsed in bed ready to sleep. I wrapped my arms around Savanna and pulled her as close to me as possible, placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Goodnight Princess."

"Goodnight daddy"

A/N~~ Guess who just updated?? Yup it's me. I'm so sorry for the wait. This chapter was a bit rushed but I'm quite happy with the events that happened. My motivation for this chapter is I'm leaving on vacation for two weeks and I won't be able to publish any other chapters and I didn't want to leave you without anything so here you go!
