Can't Run From You

Chapter 11

"Will stop there's people." I squirmed as Will was pushing me up against the lockers in front of my 6thperiod class.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I just love you so much." He said as he kissed my neck again. I watched as Eli walked right past us and into the classroom.

"Okay I have to go now, and so do you or you're gonna be late." I said as I gave Will a kiss on the cheek. He just said okay, gave me another kiss, and started running in the opposite direction to his class. He's such a dork, he almost knocked out some freshman with his shoulder as he ran. I walked into my class and sat down at my desk and rested my head on my desk.

"Well that looked like it was fun." I heard Eli say.

"mmmmmhhhhhhh." I just groaned at the desk.

"So are you going to tell him?" She asked. I immediately felt my ears start to burn. I sat up and looked at her confused.

"That you don't love him." She said understanding my confusion. I just put my head on the desk again.

"I can't." I said into the desk again.

"Why not?"

"Because it would kill him." I mumbled. Before Eli could say anything else, Mr. Arce started talking about whatever it was we were going to be talking about today. I picked my head up and Eli just gave me a small smile and turned around.

As soon as the bell rang I packed up my stuff and got ready to leave. Eli had already put her stuff away so she was waiting for me by the door. She looked good today. Her jeans fit perfectly and her black baseball t-shirt looked really cute. I was still staring at her when I saw Will walking towards the door. My heart sank as I walked up to them.

"Hey babe." Will said to me as he leaned down a bit to give me a kiss on the cheek. His stubble was growing back and I could feel it on my cheek.

"Hi." I said back. As we started walking I felt Will lace his fingers through mine. Eli was just walking next to us with her hands wrapped around her back-pack straps.

"Do you want to come over after practice today?" Will asked as we passed the trophy case in the hall.

"I would but I'm in Eli's car today." I said stupidly. Will could just drop me off but for some reason in my head that was a legitimate reason as to why I couldn't go.

"I can just take you home." Will said smiling.

"But you don't get out of practice until an hour after I do. Maybe we can just do it this weekend." I said kind of whining.

"Uh yeah okay, sounds good." Will said. I could tell he was kind of upset but it was the best thing to do right now. As we walked in silence the rest of the way I could tell that Eli was uncomfortable. Shit I was uncomfortable. When we finally got to the locker room Will just gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead and said bye.

"I feel like I ask this a lot but are you okay?" Eli said as we walked into the locker room.

"Not really but I mean I just feel like I'm stuck. If I end it It'll kill him, but if I don't I don't know what it's going to do to me." I said as I started to take my shoes off.

"Well you have to pick one. Going on like this isn't going to help." She said. After she said that she turned around, got her clothes out of her locker and started undressing.

"Yeah. I know." I muttered. When she took her shirt off I could see the outline of abs that she had as well as a maroon Victoria Secret bra. I immediately looked down at my shoes and tried to focus on untying them.

"Damn you guys are slow." Lucy said as she walked up to me and Eli. When I looked up she and Molly were already dressed and ready to go.

"Our class is on the other side of the school." I said giving her a sarcastic face.

"Mhm, or someone just wanted to lock lips with their boyfriend outside the locker room." Molly laughed.

"Yeah yeah, just go ahead we'll meet you guys out there." I said back as I took off my shirt and switched it for the t-shirt I had.

Because of the track meet tomorrow Clarke only made us run a mile and a half. When we were done with the run she made Eli and I get our marks down for long jump. Over all practice only took about an hour and a half. Eli and I finished our run in about 10 minutes, but because everyone else was super slow we had to wait for them to finish. We waited about 45 minutes for everyone to finish before we could even start jumping. After practice had ended Eli and I started walking to her jeep when I heard Molly calling after me.

"Hey Thea can I talk to you really quick?" She asked when she caught up to us. Lucy was following behind her with a confused look on her face.

"Uh yeah sure." I turned back to Eli and said "I'll be right back." And walked back to the bathroom with Molly. When we got there, Molly checked under all the stalls to make sure there was no one else in there.

"I've been waiting days for you to tell me what's going on, but now I'm just gonna ask." She said smirking at me.

"What're you talking about?" I asked starting to sweat a little bit.

"With you and Eli. I know something went on. You've been acting different ever since you told us about Will, and you've been spending all your time with her. So, what is going on?" She didn't say it accusingly she said it more matter of factly and it bugged me how well she knew me.

"So the night me and Will... well you know... I called Eli after and asked her to spend the night." I said as I adjusted my headband in the mirror.

"And?" she asked expectantly.

"And well I felt really just, I don't know, just not good about what happened with Will." I mumbled playing with the red Lokai bracelet that I don't take off.

"Okayyyy?" she whined. I was trying to delay it. Avoid it. Take it back even. If I say it its real. If she knows it's something I can't take back.

"Well I woke up in the middle of the night because I was freezing. I moved a little closer to her and she woke up one thing led to another and we were kissing." My ears were bright red and burning. I could see them in the mirror.

"Seriously????" She was screaming.

"So is she..." still screaming.

"Are you???" again screaming.

"I didn't think I was right." At this she finally calmed down a bit and wasn't screaming as loud.

"Don't tell anyone." I was trying to be very careful not to give her confirmation of the fact that Eli is gay. I didn't say flat out whether or not Eli was or wasn't. It wasn't my place but I had already fucked that up.

"I won't I won't. But did you like it?" she asked. That was a new question. I hadn't let myself think about it. I looked down at my Nikes and saw that my shoe was untied.

"Kind of. Yeah." I said still staring at my shoes. In that moment that I admitted it to her and myself I thought of my parents. I wanted to start crying, but I wouldn't let myself.

"Hey its' okay. It'll work it out. I promise." She said as she hugged me. What does this even mean.
