It's been two weeks since I broke up with Will and about a week and a half since Eli broke her hand. Will hasn't told anyone about Eli and I, and I haven't really talked to him since that day he was here with the group. Eli and I have been doing great. I really hate that we are still as secret, and I know it has been bothering her, but it is a necessary evil. Although Eli's irritation with the fact that we are a secret has been growing. Last Thursday at the meet one of the boys in the neighboring camp came over and started talking to me. I honestly think it was a bet because he kept looking back at his friends. As he was trying to say something I felt Eli pull me aside then give the guy a dirty look and say

"I'm going to borrow her." She pulled be to the bathroom and started making out with me. When she pulled back she said

"You're mine." I couldn't help laugh. I liked seeing her being sort of jealous.

"You don't need to be jealous." I turned us around and pushed her against the wall.

"And why's that?" she challenged

"Because no guy could ever compare to you. And no girl is as hot as you."

We came in first that meet.

Eli's POV

I woke up to the sound of thunder booming in my ears. I rolled my eyes and pulled the covers over my head. I hate the rain. I moved my ankle around a little bit and flinched. The rain makes it ache more than it already has been. I was about to fall back asleep when my phone started buzzing non-stop. I threw the blankets off of me, somewhat angrily I might add. I reached for my phone but ended up knocking it off the night stand with my cast.

"Fuck." I mumbled under my breathe. I grabbed my still buzzing phone off of the floor with my left hand and stared at it for a second. Even though I had deleted the contact months ago but I still knew the number by heart. Why would she be calling me now? And at 6 in the morning nonetheless.

"Hello?" My voice was hoarse and uncaring.

"Hey Eli, it's been a while."

"That's on you not me."

"I know I know."

"Why are you calling?" She knew what today was.

"I was just thinking about you. I just wanted to hear your voice."

"Well you heard it. I'm going back to sleep. Bye Dakota."

I'm pissed. She had no right to call me. It's 6 in the morning and I there's no way in fucking hell I'm going back to sleep. I got up and went to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. My black eye was already healing and was almost completely gone. My hair looked more blonde than normal and it was kind of curly, which is weird. My hair was straight before I dyed it but now it seems to be curly, although I think Thea thinks I have curly hair. I scrunched my hair. Fuck it right?

I walked out of the bathroom and to my closet. I put on some ripped blue jeans and I pulled out a tight black V-neck. I slipped on some converse walked down to the kitchen. It was barely 7 o'clock but my mom was already down in her robe starting to get breakfast ready. When I walked into the kitchen she looked at me and said

"Alright spit it out."

"Spit what out?" I hate how well she knew me.

"Whatever it is that has you up this early. You don't ever get up earlier that 8."

"The rain woke me up, and my ankles hurting."

"And?" she asked grabbed the eggs out of the fridge.
