We laid in bed for about 5 minutes before Eli started getting up. I propped myself up on my shoulders and watched her put her clothes on.

"You're leaving already?" I asked suddenly aware of how naked I was under the blankets.

"Uhm yeah. I think I better get going." The way she said it was so calm. Like she'd been in this situation before.

"Okay I'll see you later." I pulled my phone out and pretended to be on it. I didn't want her to think I was going to be super clingy, but as soon as she turned around I watched her walk to the door.

"We meet at 6 am tomorrow right?" she asked right before she opened the door.

"Yeah." I said still pretending to be on my phone. I thought what I heard was Eli leaving but when I looked up she was walking towards me. Before I had a chance to say anything she leaned down and gave me a kiss on the lips. It wasn't a long kiss but it was long enough. With that she walked out. I laid back down on my back thinking about what had just happened. I know that I should be feeling something. Regret, maybe. I should be feeling something though. Anything. But I don't. I felt numb. I would probably hit me later. As for now I felt nothing.

                                                        ------------------------------------------

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm clock going off at 5 am. I grabbed my phone to turn off the alarm but the light was so bright I figured I might as well get up already. I got up and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I walked back into my room but accidentally hit my shoulder on the wall. I must have made a pretty loud noise because a couple minutes later I heard my parent's door open then I heard my door open. I turned around to see my mom standing in my door way still half asleep. She had no idea what I'd done but I couldn't help but feel guilty and somewhat defensive.

"You have a meet today honey?" she asked.

"Yeah. I'll be home around 6 maybe. Depending on how long it takes to get all the events done." Even though it was a tri-meet it was still almost an hour away from here plus we would probably stop and eat after it was over.

"Okay sweetie well, be safe and just know God is always watching." She said smiling as if that were supposed to make me feel so much better. It didn't. It just made me feel guilty. Either way I just nodded my head and walked over to give her a kiss on the cheek. After I did she walked back into their room.

After I got all my things in my back pack I did a mental check list in my head. I had my charger, my sweat pants and jacket (just in case), my Air pods, a blanket, and an extra t-shirt, plus some snacks. I was set. I changed into my spandex and jersey, and by that time it was already 5:30ish. I grabbed my bag and walked to the garage and got in my car. I grabbed my phone and text Mol and Lucy to make sure they were up and ready to go. I also text Will to let him know I was up and leaving already. I stared at my phone and debated on whether or not I should text Eli. I hadn't talked to her since yesterday when she left. Before I could over think it any more I sent her a quick text saying "you up?" and started backing out of the garage. Before I was even out of the drive way Eli text back saying "Of course." With the little emoji of the girl with her hands in the air. I just laughed and headed for the school.

When I got to the school Clark was already waiting by the bus ready to go. I parked my car, grabbed my back pack out of the back seat and started walking towards the bus. I checked my watch as I walked. 5:45. I was early as usual, and I was expecting to be the first one there, but when I walked into the bus I was Eli in the middle of the bus on the left.

"Morning." She said as she looked up from her phone. She had her Air Pods in too so I don't even think she heard me when I said 'morning'. I sat down a couple seats ahead of her but on the right. I put my head against the seat and closed my eyes. When I opened them I saw Eli sitting next to me.
