** Task - The Request List **

I open my eyes when someone shakes me.
"What?" I groan, looking into Arwen's eyes.
"Come on," she pulls me to my feet, "We have another fun task to complete, I believe"
We slowly dawdle to the booth where it all began. I stand next to my friends, Arwen, Morgan and Cleo, as we wait for the announcement that we all know will come.
"Tributes," the small girl hisses into the microphone, "I'm hungry, I'm lonely, I'm in need of a few little.." she pauses. Well guess what, Sayuri, no one gives a shit if you are hungry or lonely. You can go die in a hole.
"Things." she finishes. Well she can shove that up her backside. What's in it for us? Sure, we might be alive by tomorrow but there is no challenge in this. What is the point? These sadistic murderers don't do anything without killing someone. I've learnt that in the past.
"Yes," she asserts herself, " I have a few little things I want you to fetch me," I prepare myself to make a mental list. I might hate this wicked human, or perhaps demon, but I can't die doing a simple task. This should be, will be, easy.
"Two items of different food, a teddy of some sort, a balloon of some sort - filled with helium, a rubber duck with the number of your birthday on the bottom - not the month, the day, and bubbles." Hopefully the others remembered some of those items. Why in the blazes of hell would she want these?
"I wish for you to bring them to me, I'll be waiting here in the office of doom for y'all. Good luck." And with that she switches off the microphone with a click and goes into her precious 'office of doom'. Seriously, this chic needs to do stuff herself. I turn to Morgan, Arwen and Cleo. I take it upon myself to get the ball rolling.
"So, what should we do?" I ask,
"We sort of have to do this, I'm not taking any chances with my life," Morgan shrugs,
"Okay, well I think it'll be quicker to split up and find the items," I suggest
"Yeah, Arwen and I can have some girl time," Cleo beams, "No offense, of course" she adds to me
"None taken," I hide a smile as I glance at Arwen's facial expression,
"Yeah, great idea," Arwen says sarcastically, but Cleo seems to either ignore the comment or can't tell when something is sarcastic,
"We'll get the balloon with helium, the food and the bubbles, cause I love bubbles" Cleo sounds like she could go on about bubbles,
"Sounds great," I nod, before she has the chance to continue, "That leaves me and Morgan with the rubber ducks with birthday dates and the teddy"
"Too easy," Morgan grins,
"We'll meet back here?" Arwen asks,
"Yep, shouldn't take too long," I nod and we split off. I stop after two or so steps and turn back around.
"I forgot to ask, when are your birthday's?" I call,
"Mine's the 1st," Cleo replies,
"Morgan knows mine," Arwen calls, then with Cleo, turns and continues walking. Morgan and I do the same. I lead the way to where I know an item will be. The stalls. The first challenge we had was to hide, that's how I found these guys, but I remember seeing several teddy bears. We wander through for a while before I actually find the stall. I jump the small barrier and ravange through the toys, Morgan does the same.
"Do you think it matters what colour it is?" Morgan asks, scattering the toys as we dig through them,
"I don't think so. I think Sayuri is just bored anyways. If she doesn't like what she gets, she can get get it herself," I reply, my tone was angry. I was quite pissed that she couldn't do this herself. She just wants to see us run around searching for things that are pointless, other than the food of course. I pull out a purple teddy bear and smile sadly. I had a bear like this.

**
It was my 7th birthday when he got it for me.
"Want me to win it for you?" my brother smiled,
"Please, please, please," I whined as I jumped up and down,
"Only because it's your birthday," he said tiredly, but deep down I knew he was doing because it would light up my day. He payed the man at the stall and in return got three small darts. He threw the first one and hit a ten pointer. I squealed in delight as he got a twenty point. If he got ten more points, I could get the really big one now. It was even bigger than me. I frowned as he hit the five pointer. My brother looked disappointed.
"Which toy would you like, boy?" the man asked, my brother looked at me expectantly. I point to a fluffy purple teddy bear. It had big eyes and ears and a smile with its tongue sticking out.
"The purple one please," my brother smiled as the man gave him the toy, "Here you go, Maxy,"
"Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou," I give him a huge hug, "It's way better than that stupid one up there," I point to the one that was bigger than me. I wasn't lying. This was the one that I loved because that's what my brother won for me.

**

"Max," Morgan waves his hand in front of my face, dragging me from my flashback,
"Yeah," I shake my head to clear it,
"We don't want to take all day,"
"Yeah," I say, still confused, "Right?"
"Let's go this way," Morgan grabs my arm and leads me out of the stall then into another alley filled with games, "There's bound to be a rubber duck one in here,"
We walk through slowly, checking each stall along the way.
"Shut up, girl" a voice barely whispers. I stop in my tracks and look to Morgan. He shrugs. I wave him over.
"Want to see who it is?" I ask quietly, he nods in reply. We sneak between some stalls. I catch a flash of red hair. I gasp but quickly compose myself. Callisto must be here. We peek around the corner. To see the weirdest thing in my life. Two of the most sadistic people in the world having a make-out session. I would definitely not have pictured them to be homosexuals. There is a middle aged women that I have never seen before, sitting on the ground.
"What the hell, Cal?" Atiliius says, pulling away,
"You stupid bitch!" Callisto hisses, "If you duck again and let me kiss this bastard, I'll kill you". He grabs the girl and forces her into a kiss. Morgan looks at me confused and we duck back around the corner.
"That's one of the weirdest thing I have ever seen," he whispers,
"You're telling me," I mutter, and suddenly a small scream stops as soon as it begins. I peek around and see a small girl, around four or five years old with black hair. Atilius and Callisto have an arm each and Atilius is covering her mouth as she struggles. The other middle aged girl lay on the ground limp.
"We have a little spy," Atilius grins at Callisto,
"You know what we do to spies?" he grins back cruelly, grabbing a knife from his back pocket. The little girl's eyes go wide in terror, "We cut their toes off, one by one," he begins,
"Then," Atilius takes over, "We cut their fingers off, then, the spy dies,". The girl struggles even more, desperate to get free. I turn away, if I interfere to help that girl then I could get killed myself, I'm not risking my life for her. That's why I'll probably go to Hell anyways. Morgan is writing is his secret journal of his. I take a peek over his shoulder to see what he is writing.

Endless traps of blood and gore,
Things I've never seen before,
An evil game is what they need
Our only hope is to succeed
Knowing that our death is near,
That's the only thing we fear

It's funny how I realise that the poem he had just wrote is so true. We have seen and faced endless traps, filled with blood and gore. We have all seen things we never have before, like people dying in the cruelest way possible. An evil game is what these Gamemakers want from us, and our only chance to survive is to do what they say - we have to succeed. And the only thing we fear, is our death.
"That's beautiful," I say, without thinking. Morgan jumps a little, startled and quickly tucks his journal away.
"Did you hear that?" one of the Gamemakers says. Morgan and I bolt. We run. We need to get to Sayuri so they don't know that we heard or saw them. We sprint down the alley, then I spot it. Rubber ducks. I rack my brain for Cleo's birthday. The 1st. I claw at the water, grabbing any duck I could find. Bingo. Now mine, the 17th.
"Morgan, what's yours and Arwen's?" I say frantically, I can't help but know we will get caught,
"Mine is the 13th, Arwen's is the 7th," he says, just as I pull out a 13,
"I got yours and Cleo's. Mine's the 17th," I say quickly, suddenly a small girl runs into me. I hate little kids.
"Rack off!" I hiss,
"You have to hel..." I push her out of the way and cut her off. Morgan looks at me in disbelief,
"We have to go!" I say
"Well I have Arwen's and yours, let's go," he rushes past me, slightly bumping the acid scar on my arm. I grit my teeth and sprint on after him. We run and run. I don't know to where but Morgan must know the way. He takes a turn, I follow.
"Get back here you rats," I hear one of the boy's call. I push on harder. Morgan weaves through the stalls and rides. We stop behind the ferris wheel, breathing heavily. We can see the office from here but Cleo and Arwen are no where to be seen.
"I think we lost them," I huff, then scream in fright as a hand grabs me from behind,
"Thought you could spy on us," Callisto hisses, then I assume Morgan got caught by them way he did a little man scream of his.
"Get lost," I lift my knee into his groin, I throw my fists at his face but he grabs one and pins it to the ground,
"Feisty," he grins, he throws a punch at my face. I groan. Damn, that hurt. I lift both my legs this time and force them upwards. I glance towrards Sayuri's office, Celo and Arwen are holding the items. I kick him in the groin again, just for good measure then, throwing him off me and into the metal of the ferris wheel. I kick Atilius off Morgan and we grab our items and run for our lives to Sayuri.
