Chapter 39 - Familiar sight

I listened as the room fell quiet when I entered the room then it was followed by the whispers of 'it's her' and 'she's back, where was she?' I scoffed and loosened my grip around Joshua's hand and walked off to do my own thing, I quickly scanned the area to see who was here and my eyes fell on someone I missed but who I dreaded to see, curly brown hair, chocolate eyes, he wore a black suit with no tie, a black blouse with only the top three buttons undone, I felt my heart in my throat and I turned away and looked at myself in the reflection of the window making sure I wasn't flustered. I walked over to the waiter and grabbed his shoulder and looked at him

"Evan, tell me when he enters"

He nodded and walked off; Evan was one of my bodyguards but tonight we had him disguised as a waiter. I walked to the bar and grabbed a whiskey, my attention was on how the bronze liquid shimmered and danced in the light as I swirled it around the crystal glass, my attention was brought back when I saw Evan came rushing back over to me and he leant into me.

"It's not him but we have another problem or more"

"What is it now?"

My voice dropped into a whisper shout and my expression became cold, I saw him step back a bit in fear which was unusual cause he never gets scared of me

"Family wants to see you and Hellbourne and Lewis"

"Ok I'll see them soon but what about the other two?"

He took a deep breath and signalled in their direction, I turned around and I saw those two standing with each other, his hands on her waist and her hands on top of his, I rolled my eyes and turned back around before Thomas could see. I grabbed Evan by his forearm and looked at him harshly.

"Screw them, they deserve each other"

"You're jealous"

I pushed his back in disgust, he wasn't wrong I was kinda jealous but not enough for it to affect me.

"Asshole, but let's go find my grandparents and father, shall we?"

I took his arm and I looked at Joshua, I nodded lightly and I saw him walk over to Alexia and whisper in her ear, she looked back at him and nodded with a stern look, she caught my eyes and winked, I winked back at her to say got it.

"Plan all set?"

"Yes, all set and ready to go..."

Evan pointed in the direction of my family and I walked over there and gave them a small smirk then walked off again

"I'll be back very soon..."

I met up with Alex and gave her a long hug and looked at her new look.

"Love the hair"

"Your brother does as well"

We chatted for a bit and my eyes caught the slightest glimpse of Thomas and my brothers looking at me, my brothers didn't know I was going to be here, and everyone else but Evan, Joshua, Alex, papa and my grandparents plus my uncle expect The Grim Reaper.

"You might want to head off to my brother again, he's looking a bit suspicious"

"What's new darling, but I'll talk to you before the dancing got it?"

I nodded and watched her walk away and I walked back to my family, I gave them all a quick hug and stood back slouching into my hip.

"Now what?"

"Why couldn't you come as the reaper?"

"Because it would've raised suspicion"

"It wouldn't"
