Ringing the doorbell to my parents house, I waited on the doorstep for them to answer. If this was anybody else's house i'd probably go wait in the car but these were my people so I kept ringing the doorbell until it finally swung open.
My dad stood on the other side of the door behind my mom with his gun in his hand.
"Told you not to bring that damn gun to the door." My mom said rolling her eyes, she hated when my dad got into his paranoid hood nigga mode, he always thought somebody was after him.
"Took y'all forever. Hey mama, Hey daddy. How are y'all?" I asked walking into the kitchen once I smelled food
"Hey babygirl we've been good, sorry it took so long we thought you were London and she wasn't supposed to be here for another 30 minutes."
London has always been super close to me and my family, She was one of the few family members I fucked with on my moms side, they were too judgmental for me. We were inseparable when we were younger and that never really changed. I knew I could count on London for anything.
"So y'all was just having a lil family get together but didn't think to invite your favorite daughter" I said rolling my eyes
"Girl, You're our only daughter" My mom said laughing
"That's even worse..." I responded picking at the food
"Girl what I tell you about picking at the food" She asked me
"Daddy said I could, right old man?"
"I almost took up for yo ass but you talking shit so now you on yo own" He said and I laughed
We heard the doorbell ring and I got up grabbing a piece of chicken that my mom had just put on the plate, blowing it as I opened the door
"Cousinnnnnnnnn" She yelled and I laughed hugging her
"Ooh that chicken smell good, right off the plate?" She asked
"Girl... Right. Off. The. Plate." I said pausing in between words and doing a little dance so she know it's real
"Ahhh I missed you so much, You all glowing and shit" She said and I chuckled. "Girl don't lie, I look the same from the last time you saw me."
"Mhm, your new man got you skipping around, smiling from ear to ear."
"New man?!?" I said in my soulja boy voice. "Bitch where?" I said laughing.
"What new man?" My dad said popping up behind me, causing both me and London to jump.
"Dang uncle Kory, you tryna give me a heart attack." London said holding her chest
"I told you stop worrying about these ugly ass lil boys and focus on school."
