(Y/N)'s POV

"Hey, Toko What are ya up to?" I leaned over my friend's shoulder and peered into his notebook. He was writing something about math, ew.

"Getting a head start on the math problems we were given for homework." "Whaaaat?? Math homework? When did we get assigned that?" He sighed and put his pencil down. "Just a few moments ago, were you not paying attention (Nick/Name)?" I shrugged and took a seat next to him. "I guess not!! Haha! It's okay, I'm totally good at math!"

He shook his head. "No offense but you're not, you've come to me for help the last few times. Here." He stood up and moved his desk close to mine and handed me some extra pieces of paper.

"Let's work on it together now. Let's get a head start." I shook my head and smiled at him. "Okay! Let's do this!"

"I can't do this..!" I put my head in my arms, pencil broken and papers scribbled on. "(N/N) we haven't even been working on this for five minutes." "It's too hard! How do you get this? Why does x equal 18, and why is B missing from the equation?!" I sighed and pouted. "I can't do this Toko, I can't!!" He thought about something in silence.

"What would help you study. Should I ask one of our other classmates to help?" "No, it's okay! You're a great helper, I'm just a bad learner!" "Why do you put yourself down in such a positive voice? Well, I suppose I'd like to know why you put yourself down period."

"What do you mean?" "You always give yourself backhanded compliments. It's frustrating that you don't see what others see." I looked at him confused. "I live by one rule. Insult yourself first before someone else does." "That's a terrible rule to live by." "Keeps me from getting hurt by others, so I don't think it's so bad!" I gave him a smile.

I sat up and grabbed a new pencil, I began once more on the math problems. Hoping he wouldn't ask about my self-destructive behavior. Because man, do I have some problems I hide with a smile!!

I managed to finish one problem, but I could feel his stare. Probably Dark Shadow's as well. "So What did you get on this problem??" I pointed at a problem on the paper and looked at Tokoyami.

"I haven't done that one yet, but it's the same formula as the problem you were having problems with. Do you understand it now?" "It's the same formula? Oh haha! I didn't notice! I could've totally gotten it wrong then!" He frowned. "You're smart, let me see it." I handed over the paper to him.

I was messing with my fingernails under the desk, I felt nervous. I probably did get it wrong but, I actually tried on that one. I hope I at least got the first few steps right.

"See I told you. You got it right, you know how to work these. Give yourself more credit." He handed me my paperback and focused on his once more. I looked at him and sighed contently before once more working on my problems. The math problems, not my mental problems.

"So number seven is negative twenty-nine right!" I looked back at him hopeful. "Uh no, but let me explain why."

After a brief explanation, I could confidently say I don't know how to do those math problems past step four. They're just so confusing, but for Tokoyami's sake, I said I understood.

The class soon ended and Tokoyami and I were going to study in the dorm's common room. It would be just the two of us, if you don't count Dark Shadow, alone. Yes, I'm in a public area but still alone! I felt nervous, maybe a little too nervous.

I hadn't noticed but I had activated my quirk the closer we got to the dorms. "(N/N)... Y-Your quirk.." "Oh, I'm sorry!!" My quirk consists of releasing a sleep-inducing gas from my palms and neck. Once you breathe it in enough you'll pass right out.

He gasped for air once I controlled my quirk. "I'm sorry Tokoyami! I didn't mean to do that, I was uh. Just nervous.." after catching his breath he shook his head. "Don't apologize I am nervous as well." He closed his eyes and sighed. "I like you (Y/N), and I wanted to know if you would like to be my girlfriend."

I didn't answer him immediately. Do you mean to tell me my crush likes me back?! Oh, this has to be a dream. "Yes! I'd love to be your girlfriend!" I extended my arms and pulled him in for a hug. I felt him hug back and also felt Dark Shadow hugging me.
