Gregory's POV

I couldn't resist. No matter how many times I've been scolded, yelled at or talked too...I couldn't resist the blood right in front of me. It wasn't animals blood I could smell the difference immediately. My family is proud, proud that we can say we don't eat humans. That were "vegetarians" meaning we drink animal blood. But it was right there. Teasing me. And what's the harm? I'm not actually biting a human. Just licking them.

The blood was lukewarm and tasted better than any animals blood. Before I could take a second lick my father pulls me off of the girl. Oh this girl. She looks terrified, her eyes wide and fixed on our family.

"Vivian" the annoying human boy cries as he runs into the girls arms and they hug eachother

"You know this girl" mother says in her sweet tone

"She's my older sister" the human boy Tony replies before turning back to the girl "how'd you find me"

"First off who the hell was that man and why was he trying to hurt you. Secondly who are these people, why are we all underground in a grave hard and why did he lick me" the girl points to me

"Hush darling it's okay" mother starts again "that was rookery the vampire slayer. He's been after us for years."

"He's a vampire slayer? Okay Right. Well thank you for this crazy night but I'm taking my brother home" the human Vivian says bluntly with an eye roll

She's absolutely breath taking...

"No you can't take tony" my brother Rudolf says loudly and grabs Tony's arms and jerks him towards himself

"Yes I can" Vivian says seriously "I'm glad tony has made friends but you all seem like you take this vampire and the hunter thing way too seriously"

"What?" My father finally speaks letting go of me "this isn't a game girl. You're brother is helping us become human again"

"Right. Okay sure. Well find someone else. Come on tony we're going home" the girl begins again

Before my father could speak again a rectangular object was lowered into the hole into our cave

"Gotcha" the voice of rookery screamed from above and the rectangular box turned on sending beams of light everywhere. It burned like acid. I grab Anna and try and shield her. My mother grabs rudolf and runs to us. My father spreads his arms to protect all of us from the deadly rays.

We all scream. It's impossible not too

"We need to turn it off. Now!" I can hear the human tony scream

Glass shatters and the light is off. The burning fades. My father collapses into my mothers arms and we all gather around.

"Father!!" Anna spoke for the first time in which seems like forever

"What happened" rudolf asked

"Vivian threw a rock at the light. It broke" the human tony speaks again and we all look at her

"We are so grateful for you
My dear" mother speaks

"You're actual vampires" the girl looks mortified

"I told you vampires are real" human tony smirks

"He's weak" mother states. Obviously talking about father. Being exposed to light would do that to any vampire

"We need cows tony" rudolf speaks

"Vivian we need to take them to the farm"

"Let's go" the human Vivian speaks and lets out a huge breath

"We have to go the back way" mother says "Gregory help me
With your father"

I realized I haven't said anything this whole time. I don't know if I was still in shock from tasting human blood for the first time in a while or meeting two humans that didn't want to kill my family.

"Okay" was all I was able to manage
