A Bughead story

Let me see your face

She just stood there in shock. She couldn't believe what had just happened. When she finally sat back down, she was completely paralysed. She had no idea, what she had just witnessed. That Archie actually hit Jughead still hadn't occurred to her, and it took awhile for her to understand it all. After a couple of minutes she left to go find Jughead. Soon she was standing outside his house about to knock, until the door was opened. It was Jughead, but he didn't look at her.
- Hey Jug, are you okay? You know after what happened at Pop's?
- I'm fine
He said a little cold while looking away.
- Let me see your face
- What?
- Turn around, and let me look at your face
She said a little more harshly.
- I don't understand, why you want to see my face. Really there's nothi-
Betty turned his face to look at her. He had a big, swollen and red eye, and he had a little cut above his eyebrow which bled a little. Betty had a concerned look at her face, and for a moment she stroked his cheek, before getting up to find something to clean him up with.
- Where are you going?
He asked, but she didn't answer. After a few seconds she found some cleansing tissues. She sat back on the couch and starting lightly cleaning his cut. He didn't say anything, until she was completely done.
- Thank you
He said a little shyly.
- You don't have to thank me Jug, really. If it wasn't for me lying to Archie, you wouldn't be like this
- Don't blame yourself, besides it doesn't really hurt that much
- Really?
Betty said with a smirk before taking pouring some disinfectant on a tissue.
- Stop, okay maybe it hurts a little bit
- A little bit?
- Okay a lot, but please don't rub that on my face
Betty laughed before putting the tissue down.
- Okay I won't but next time don't try to act tough, when you're clearly not
He smiled embarrassing and blushed a little before asking:
- So what are you gonna do about Archie?
She sighed.
- I don't know. I mean I'll have to break up with him, I just don't know how
- I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the threat
Jughead said looking down, and Betty took his hand.
- Hey it's okay, you just didn't wanna screw my relationship up, when it's clearly already a mess
She said, wich made him smile a bit. For a moment they just stared at each other. Like they were the only people in the world. None of them knew what to say, because they didn't wanna ruin the moment. Suddenly Jughead remembered about Archie, and he stopped staring.
- I think you better go talk to Archie
- Yeah, you're probably right
Betty said getting up to leave.
- See you tomorrow
- Bye
He waved.
