Shadowhunters: One Shots

The Christmas Tree Disaster

Celine sprinted into the institute with an ever so excited expression plastered across her face. "Mommy!Mommy! Daddy and Uncle Simon's got the Christmas tree!" Clary was cradling Jonathan her youngest son in her arms who was 5 years younger then Celine. Isabelle (who was 7 months pregnant ) was sat next to Clary with her hand protectively placed on her pregnant belly as she took a sip of some magic tea that Magnus had created to help Izzy with the pregnancy. Jace followed carrying an ever so large Christmas tree into the institute along with Simon who had his daughter Rebbeca  up on his shoulders. "Wow thats um quite big,"Clary commented seeing how humongous the tree was. It looked like it wasn't going to fit inside the room at all. Celine nodded ever so hastily "I know!"she squealed.
"Anything for my angel,"Jace said who thumped the tree down onto the floor ever so harshly. "Jace couldn't you of put it somewhere else?"Izzy asked looking very frustrated. Scoffing and mockingly bowing Jace mumbled under his breath and with sarcasm, "Yes your majesty whatever you say." Izzy rolled her eyes "Just do something with it!" Simon puts Rebecca onto the ground and she ran over to her Mother hugging her legs ever so tightly, "We are going to decorate it!"she tells her as if Izzy didn't know what to do with it when ofcourse she did. Hugging her daughter back Izzy said with an enthusiastic voice "Are you?"Rebbecca nodded "Uh huh!"
"We just have to wait for Uncle Alec and Magnus,"Jace said ruffling Celines hair slightly "With Raffey and Max!"Celine added.
"With Raffey and Max,"Jace repeated kissing his daughters cheek.

Alec and Magnus arrived with Max and Rafe a couple of minutes later. "Sorry if we're late darlings,"Magnus said who was holding Rafe's hand whilst Alec was holding Max.
"Max has been developing more powers,"Alec explained "He won't stop making Candy bars appear."
Just as if on cue Max waved his hands and a Chocolate Mars Candy bar appeared in his small blue hands.
"No more Candy Max!"Alec scolded taking the Chocolate bar away,only causing Max to winge a little.

"What is the point of decorating a tree?"Jace asked bouncing Jonathan on his hip as everyone had soon started to decorate the tree.

"Because Jace,"Clary said putting the tinsel around each branch from the bottom all the way to the top, "It is all part of the Christmas fun and getting into the spirit."

"One thing that gets me into the Christmas spirit is a few glasses of Red whine, some cherry and vodka or even some Christmas cocktails,"Magnus commented who had gotten up from his seat "speaking of anyone want any special drinks?"he asked.

"No thanks,"Clary said who was busy enjoying herself with decorating the tree. "Pregnant,"Izzy said gesturing to her bump. "Go on then,"Jace said.
Alec shrugged "Sure why not."
"Splendid,"Magnus beamed before waving his hands causing a purple sparkle to escape from his finger tips making 3 glasses of Christmas Cocktails appear in Alec's, Jace's and his own hands.

As Jace was taking his drink he winced a little, "Jesus this is bitter,"he said. He looked down at his son he was holding and he couldn't help but smile at how beautiful he was with his red hair starting to grow onto his head, His ever so beautiful emerald green eyes. "My little man,Don't you look like your Mother hey?"he whispered kissing his face ever so gently.

Jace then looked up and watched Clary and Celine choosing the ornaments to put on the tree and he couldn't help but watch them with nothing but pure love and awe. For the past 5 years Clary and Jace had gotten to know their daughter every single day since the day she was born.

Celine looked alot like Jace and already had a passion for Art but deep down Jace knew that Celine was going to grow up and become one of the best Shadowhunters her age and already he felt so proud of her. He was proud of his wife also, always keeping a smile on her face no matter how bad the situation was, she was still his gorgeous Clary and now he has a family with her,whats not to love about that?

Rebbecca was really keen on putting the star on top of the tree and she held it with excited wide eyes. "Daddy can I put the star on?"she asked "PLLLLEEEEAAASSSSEEE!"she begged. Simon gave Rebecca a smile and nodded "Sure why not?"he said getting up from the sofa and he puts Becca onto his shoulders as she puts the star on top of the tree.

"Beautiful!"she cheered clapping and squealing. Simon couldn't help but smile at his daughters excitement when suddenly he saw something move from within the branches. He gulped "Um...guys there's something in the tree,"he said he ever so carefully put Rebecca back onto the ground and went to investigate.

A Rat bit Simon's hand causing him to yell out in pain and clutch his hand as the rat jumped out of the tree and was crawling ever so fast amongst the floorboards. Izzy started to scream jumping up onto the sofa, "YOU IDOIT SIMON!"Izzy screamed.
"ME!?"Simon yelled "THE RAT BIT MY FINGERS!"
"Where did you even get this tree!?"Clary asked her husband and Simon.
"We've chopped it down from the woods..."Jace tells her as if it was completely normal to do so,"You said you wanted to have a real Christmas tree and there were loads of them by the institute so I got you one."
Clary puts her hand on her forehead sighing with disbelief,this was just typical of Jace and Simon "You do know that you can BUY them right?"she asked as Alec picked up the rat.

"It looks like Uncle Simon,"Rafe said looking at the rat in Alec's hands.
That was when Jace lost it and had erupted into hysterical laughter "Your kid's smart,"he tells his Parabati.
Simon did not look happy what so ever and he crossed his arms with a huff. "Brings back memories doesn't it?"Magnus chuckled remembering how he had met his husband. Alec looked at Magnus with his cute adorable smile that Magnus adored so much, "Yeah it does,"Alec agreed before taking the rat outside and setting it free.

Once Alec returned Max couldn't stop laughing "What's so funny Maxamillion?" He asked picking his son up. "Rat face!"Max giggled and he waved his hands aiming at Simon.
"Max No!"Alec yelled but it was too late, Simon had turned into a rat...again. Clary covered her mouth with her hand staring at Simon on the floor looking up at her with wide pure pitch black eyes and grey whiskers pointing up with a large pink tail.

"Good job Kid,"Jace said giving Max a high five.
"Jace!"Izzy snapped glaring at her brother "THATS MY HUSBAND!"
"And my Daddy,"Becca added she looked sad and heart broken seeing Simon in rat form. Celine goes to hug and comfort her cousin. "You need to turn him back Uncle Magnus,"Celine tells the High warlock. "Please,"Rebecca begged in a quite voice "I want my Daddy back."
Magnus looked at Rebecca with a sad smile "Ofcourse sweetheart,"he said,he waves his hands and Simon appeared back in human form.

"DADDY!"Rebecca sprinted and gave Simon the tightest hug which Simon returned with a smile of pure relief.
"Sorry Uncle Simon,"Max said who was frowning,kind of like an Alec kind of frown. "It's okay Kid,"Simon said he could never get angry at Kids and when he did it was never for long. "You're really powerful,"he added causing Max to beam with pride.

The Tree was complete. Clary had to admit it was the most beautiful tree that she had ever seen as it was her family who had put it up altogether, just like how they would in the next Christmas's to come and The trees  becoming even better once Izzy and Simon had had their second baby and Jonathan would be old enough to help out too.

All the children were passed out on the couch all curled up against their parents as everyone else was admiring the Christmas tree, glistening with fairy lights in all its glory.

"This has to be one of the best Christmas's ever,"said Jace wrapping his arm around his wife and giving her a kiss on the lips "and I don't really enjoy Christmas usually."
"Well i'm glad that I've changed your mind about it,"Clary replied with a gentle and kind smile.
Jace was stroking Celine's blonde hair back as she slept.

"Despite being turned into a Rat again I agree with Jace," said Simon "and its going to be even better when our baby arrives,"he placed his hand against Izzy's baby bump and kisses her forehead. "As Tiny Tim said in Charles Dickens's novella A Christmas Carole,"said Magnus "God bless us everyone!"
