Sammy McKinnon has devoted majority of her high school life to the theatre; helping with props, costumes, light and sound for every production ever put on, and has always been too shy to show off her own talents.
When East High's new drama teacher Miss Jen decides to put on a production of 'High School Musical', naturally Sammy wants to help in every way possible.
But when she and newcomer Ricky Bowen share a moment, Sammy's life gets more complicated than she ever expected.
And eventually she realises she has to make a choice. To either step out of the shadows, or to sit back and watch from the wings like always.
