Instantly when we close the front door behind us Mum pulls out her wand.

"What the hell where you thinking? Walking out like that last summer?" Mum growls into Sirius' face.

I flinch remembering that it was me who opened the door for him. That he's going to suffer for what I did. Well it wasnt entirely my fault I mean, he's the one who walked out. So if you think about it, it is his fault. I turn to walk upstairs as Sirius glares at Mum. I don't want to have to deal with this, I'm so damn tired. I just want to sleep. Dad lunges towards me grabbing my arm, "Oh ho ho ho! No you don't, you were involved in this too weren't you?"

"No he wasn't! It was my idea and my plan. And I must say it worked pretty well." snarled Sirius.

Dad moves and yanks down on Sirius' hair. He then turns to me with his vein bulging out in his forehead. He doesn't know what to believe but as much as he wants to think it was just Sirius. I think he believes it was me too.

"You little asshats think this is a joke?" snarls Dad clutching Sirius' overly long hair.

Sirius glares at him, "Does it look like we're laughing?"

Dad yanks so hard on Sirius' hair that he let's out a yelp, "Oh don't try to be a smartass. It looks bad on you!"

Dad kicks out Sirius' knees and he collapses, "Now time to cut this hair."

Sirius snarls and twists out of Dads hand. Dad eyes bulge. Sirius runs up the stairs and we hear a door slam. At this I flinch knowing this isn't going to end well.

"Go get him down here Regulus. He'll listen to you." snaps Mum following Dad into the kitchen.

I look up the stairs and debate what I'll say to him. I slowly walk up the stairs and stand in front if his door.

"What are you doing Master Regulus? Kreacher is hoping you aren't going to talk to the traitor."

I turn, "Hello, Kreacher."

A little old house elf is standing there, "Master Orion and Walburga won't be happy to hear you've been talking to the blood-traitor."

"Kreacher I would really appreciate it if you don't tell them. But I won't stop you." I say facing the door.

I hear a small squeak, "Why is Master Regulus being so nice to old Kreacher? Has he finally lost his mind?"

"I can hear you Kreacher!" I roll my eyes.

"My apologies Master Regulus." Kreacher rushed down the hall.

I like Kreacher, I swear he is the one pure thing in this house. I raise my hand to knock and I freeze. Sirius hates me, even I hate me. He won't want to see me, I mean after all I've done? I could just tell Mum and Dad that Sirius refused to come down. But I don't, I knock. I wait and knock again when no one answers. I slowly turn the door handle and look inside. I see no ones in ther so I push the door open all the way. I walk in and the see his window open. My first thought is that he jumped out, got out of this hellhole. But then I remember when we were younger we always went out onto the roof to escape our parents. I also remember it's way too big of a drop.

I slowly climb out and I walk onto the roof. I step onto a loose shingle and I start to slip. I grab onto the gutter and hold on. It's a stupid mistake I used to make as a child too. I walk to the top and look over. I see Sirius sprawled out on the roof staring up at the stars. I go and sit next to him lightly.

"What are you doing here Regulus?" Sirius says flatly.

"Same reason you're out to here." I reply.

Sirius grunts, "Yeah right. I bet you can't get enough of being the perfect child."

I stare at him, "The perfect child? Is that really what you think I am?"

"Yes as a matter of fact I do." he snaps.

"Well I'm not, so stop your fantasizing and come back to reality."

"Reality? You mean this shit? Yeah I would love to come back to this! You need to get it into your head that sometimes you need fantasies to live! You can't just live in reality all your life!" Sirius finally snaps.

I go silent, "I understand that--"

"No you don't. You have had your life figured out from the beginning, you know who you are! I don't! I never did, ever! And while you're sitting here enjoying life I'm on the craziest fricking roller coaster. And it seems like you don't give a crap. Oh wait! That's because you don't!"

"Stop. I am not the perfect child. I never will be. We both have our own reasons and if you care to share yours I'll share mine. But if you don't, oh well, I'll leave you be and go tell Mum and Dad that you wouldn't come down. Because god damnit you always get what you want eventually." I snarl. "It's up to you, I'll stay but it seems like youd rather me leave." I stop talking and Sirius doesn't say anything, "Fine. I hope you enjoy your night."

I get up and start across the roof, "Wait."

I turn and Sirius is staring right at me, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that."

"Yes you did." I growl.

He sighs and pats next to him, "Come on and sit I'll tell you why I'm not the perfect son."

I walk over and sit, "Let's just start with the fact I'm in Gryffindor, I'm friends with a muggle born, and I don't belive in blood purity. According to them, I'm the worst person alive. What about you what makes you not so perfect?"

"I'm also friends with a mud-- muggle born. Her name is Gracelyn, she's in Hufflepuff."

Sirius whistles, "I did not see that one coming."

"Yeah she's really sweet. Shes been helping me a lot... What ever happened to Emma?"

"I don't really know, but what I do know that sometimes Mum sends her off to places so we don't see her." Sirius murmurs.

"She seems nice enough--", I start.

"What the hell are you two doing up here?"
