"Robin," I placed my hand on his shoulder. "May I speak to you for a moment?"

"About what?"

I sighed and stared towards Connor and Percy. Percy chose to ignore his comment, and I know if I say anything to him it will only make things worse.

"It is about Percy."

"Sure."

I guided him through the Cave and into my room. I sat on my bed and patted the space beside me.

"So, what did you want to tell me?" He asked.

"You know, the last time you were in here with me was right after I tried to kill myself." I found myself staring at the throw rug covering the stain from my blood. "Percy threw herself off of a cliff right in front of me. After years of me telling her nothing was her fault, that I was happy to take that oath. Any Atlantean would. It was an honor to be selected for it. To be trusted as the appointed protector to the daughter of Poseidon, that was every Atlantean's dream when he claimed her."

"Why?"

"Percy is Poseidon's first mortal daughter. He was protective when she was first born, and even more so now with everything she has went through. I was almost killed when I was twelve because people wanted to try to get their children the position. It would not have ended well. Percy is the closest I have ever had to a sister, she may be older but I want to protect as if she were younger. I would die for her, without hesitation. I do not understand why you suspect her of brainwashing me. If you would have asked, I would have allowed you to look through the scrapbook. Although some of the pictures in there are embarrassing. Harmless as an infant, certain situations become more or less mortifying as time goes on."

Robin crossed his legs. "So you're telling me, you were almost killed for swearing your life to a girl none of those people had ever met?"

"Yes. Robin..." I swallowed. "Do you remember what I said before Percy dismissed my service and ran off?"

He fixed his sunglasses before shaking his head. "No. Sorry."

"It is alright, my friend. So much happened that day. I promised Percy when we were eight, that I would always protect her. It wasn't meant for playground bullies or anything small. No, that promise came around because of her step-father. Even before that I would move in front of her, Atlanteans are more durable but..." I sighed. "That's the reason why Percy got us those rings."

"Why are you telling me this?" Robin asked.

"Out of everyone on this team, there are more likely to believe you. Percy and I would rather stay here, but we plan on permanently splitting from the Team if things remain as they are. I am her guard before I am my king's protege, I would prefer to fulfill both of my roles. It is-"

Robin wrapped his arms around me in a hug. My eyes widened and I returned the hug.

"If I tell the Team that Percy's okay, will you promise not to tru to kill yourself? Please? I can't lose anyone else."

The striking similarity to Percy shook me and I tightened my hug. "I promise." I saw no harm in that, especially since Percy had already forbidden me. We sat there for a while, with me rocking slightly trying to calm Robin down.

Pulling away from me, he stood up and went to the door. "Well, come on."

I smiled and followed him back to the living room. My eyes widened. Batman and Orin stood glaring at each other.

"I don't care that you don't trust her! She is a princess above me in rank and her father wants her to be somewhere safe. I honestly thought you had learned your lesson. You need to have some trust in others." My king crossed his arms.

I glanced at Percy who had her hands over her ears. I walked over to her and pulled her into a hug. "It will be okay."

"You don't know that," she mumbled. I frowned and kissed her forehead.

"As long as I'm here I'm going to make sure you are okay. It is my job after all." I glanced at Orin and Batman who were locked in a heated argument. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Connor putting in ear plugs.

"If you refuse to treat Percy like she is a normal person, like she is a member of this team, then I will withdraw from the League, along with all Atlantean support for it. Percy is my daughter as far as I am concerned, I helped raise her."

"What proof do you have?"

Orin looked at me. "The scrapbook?"

I nodded and went to grab it. I hurried back to the living room and presented it to my king.

He opened it. "Let's see, here we have Percy and Kaldur's first time meeting. We have her first birthday. We have playdates between the two of them. We have Sally and Sha'lain'a holding their kids. Halloween. Christmas even though neither family was Christian. Percy as the flower girl in her mother's first wedding. Kaldur the day he swore his oath to Percy. Percy, Kaldur, and Tyson at her birthday party. Percy getting hit over the head by a chair to test the Curse of Achilles she had for-"

"Long story short, my powers are water based not telepathy based. So do you guys trust me or not?" Percy said.

The Team looked at each other before Robin spoke up.

"I do."
