ONCE THE REALIZATION dawned on him, Nathaniel readied himself for the altercation he knew would come. He knew he was going to need his magic so he was ready for anything. He had bigger things to worry about than lingering stares if the locals.

Nathaniel departed from Cami's apartment and headed in the direction of the Mikaelson Compound. He needed to deduct where was not so he could steer clear of the creepy witch. But as the familiar Norwegian toon proceeded to play through the bells of St. Louis Cathedral, he knew that would not be the case. Dahlia had declared herself.

Nathaniel sped to his bedroom and slowly pushed open the closed double doors to enter. A tense silence greeted him as he made his way through the home. He began to worry if it had been deserted, considering many of the residents left in fits of anger. But when voices erupted from the courtyard, he knew that the compound had been the right choice.

The original crouched low to the ground as he approached the open room. He nearly crawled across the second floor walkway that overlooked the courtyard to keep his presence undetectable.

Nathaniel quickly slid behind a pillar when his eyes fell on two figures. Dahlia stood at the edge of the courtyard, waving her hand toward Freya. The blonde soared backward and landed harshly inside the room that once held Hayley and Jackson's wedding.

When they were out of view, Nathaniel shifted his attention to where he found two other figures across from him on the same second floor walkway. Klaus had Elijah shoved against the wall, before he grabbed his older brother and yanked him toward the railing.

"She's controlling you," Elijah rasped from the exertion. "You have to fight her."

Klaus glared heatedly toward the Original. "The only thing she did is pull out the dagger you stuck in my heart!" he shouted.

Elijah's expression hardened and shoved the hybrid away, before he sent his fist into the man's jaw. Klaus stumbled back from the blow, which gave Elijah the opportunity to kick him square in the stomach.

Nathaniel winced when Klaus fell back into the wall behind him. A deep sneer formed on Klaus's features as he pushed from the wall and lunged for his brother. But instead of reaching him, Elijah kneed Klaus several times in the stomach and then slammed him into another wall.

The concrete shattered and fell to the floor, while Klaus remained standing against the broken material. He growled and rushed toward his brother.

As the rage began to overtake him, Klaus grabbed Elijah and shoved him into the previous wall with a hand around his throat. Elijah reached up and did the same to Klaus, but the hybrid had the upper hand.

"She will take," Elijah choked, "everything from us."

"You took everything when you broke our vow!" Klaus exclaimed. "Perhaps I'll take something from you."

The hybrid tightened his hold around his brother's neck. Klaus then grabbed Elijah's arm, twisting it at a blinding speed to snap it near in half. The Original screamed in agony from the break, which gave Klaus time to shove him face first against the railing of the walkway.

Nathaniel looked down into the courtyard when another person appeared. He immediately recognized them as Gia, the new vampire that Elijah had taken to seeing after Hayley married Jackson. He honestly did not know the woman was still around.
