IN THE FOLLOWING weeks, a new kind of calm fell over the Mikaelson family. Nathaniel told them that he wants to start planning for the wedding. Everyone loved the great new some more than others. The world still turned around them and the only thing Nathaniel could do was set their minds at ease.

With Aurora still in the wind, Nathaniel agreed to stay within the walls of compound. Hayley, Cami, and Freya fussed over every little thing he did for the wedding, while Klaus and Elijah worried if he went outside. So he decided that the best thing for everyone would be if he remained out of the limelight for a while. Just until things calmed and Aurora, Lucien, and Tristan had been dealt with.

During those few weeks, Cami stayed in the compound with Nathaniel. The original did not feel like letting the woman leave unprotected with the redheaded she-devil running around. So Cami took to staying in Hayley's old bedroom, helping her remain sane when everyone proceeded to fret over her wellbeing.

Hayley fretted the most for everyone especially the ones with children. And while chaos still ensued around them,  Nathaniel woke in a happy mood one morning. Christmas. He always loved Christmas, especially when it came to the Mikaelson family. The entire home had been decked out in twinkling lights, festive wreaths, and a massive tree in the center of the courtyard. It was one of the few times he appreciates their lavish taste even more.

Nathaniel sat on one of the couches in the open space. His legs were propped up onto the coffee table in front of him, while he looked at some magazines. Cami was to him right in an armchair, staring at a women who had been compelled to feed the Mikaelson siblings and Nathaniel. The woman stood next to the chair and couch, bleeding into glass from her wrist.

Cami's brows furrowed as she stared at the woman. "Do they -like -pay you?" she questioned.

The woman smiled at her response, but she remained silent.

"Handsomely!" Klaus voiced, striding into the room. "And with a generous Christmas bonus. Isn't that right?" He stood next to the woman, taking the glass offered to him then on for his fiancé, before he dropped onto the couch beside Nathaniel. He gave Nathaniel his cup then sent Cami a smirk and took a sip of the blood as the woman walked away.

"So, you just compel her to nod and agree with whatever you say?" Cami asked him with her brows still creased.

"I compel her to feed me plus Nathaniel and to hang the occasional Christmas ornament. She can say whatever the hell she wants," Klaus said, causing both women to laugh. "You two seem better."

Cami nodded. "Yeah. Thank you for letting me stay here the last couple of weeks."

Klaus shrugged. "Well, Nate did insist you stay."

Nathaniel drinks some blood then turned and gave him a look. "Don't act like you didn't want her here. She's your friend, too, and you wanted to help her," he said with a huff. "Not to mention, I'm basically under house arrest. I needed someone to keep me company."

Klaus sighed. "You know why you cannot leave the safety of the compound."

"Yes, and if I'm going to be cooped up in this place until everything calms down, I need something to do. If not, I'm eventually going to desiccate myself just so the time can pass,"  Nathaniel exclaimed, leaning his head back against the cushion behind him.
