CHAPTER 30
NARRATIVE

We pulled up to a breakfast place and waited to be seated. It isn't busy, there is just no one at the register wait to be seated stand.

"Hmm pancakes sound so good right now." I chuckle, breathing in the smell of fresh breakfast food as a lady with an apron on approaches.

"Just the two of you? Follow this way." She greeted and turned right down one of the isles, seating us at a booth next to the window.

"My parents barely take us out to eat and I've barely moved here like six months ago. so I've never been here." I state as we scan the menu.

I craved pancakes but I don't think I'm hungry enough for pancakes. Maybe I'll just get French toast with the normal sides, just no sausage that stuffs gross.

I look across the booth at Alejandro and smile to myself, I don't know I just felt happy. I shouldn't get to ahead of myself though I'll jinx this shit.

"What would you two like to drink?" The short cute waitress asks politely looking over at me first.

"Umm dr. Pepper if you have it or Pepsi and a water." I answer before looking back at my menu to make the last decision on what I want to eat.

The lady walks away with our drink orders and we hear a large group of people come through the door.

"Well looks like we won't be getting much piece and quiet." Alejandro chuckles after the group was led past us to a big booth not to far from ours.

"Let's just hope the waitress lady doesn't throw herself at you like in another books I've read." I joke as she approaches us with our drinks ready to take our order.

I go to the bathroom for not even five minutes and a girl is in my seat tryna get Alejandro's number or something.

"Before you say anything, she's just a fan." Alejandro states with a chuckle watching the confusion on my face after the girl left.

"A fan who has a crush." I laugh probably sounding paranoid and annoying before continuing, "I mean she's literally still staring at you."

"Awwe Monae is jealous." Alejandro teases as he finishes his food, and I've been waiting fifteen minutes. Either I'm a faster eater or he's slow.

"Am not, I just feel like it's rude to sit in someone else's spot." I state with a shrug before crossing my arms which makes Alejandro roll his eyes at me and chuckle.

We both go silent as we wait for the check which we decided we'd split. There isn't much to talk about and forcing a conversation makes things awkward and I sometimes stutter when that happens.

I like Alejandro a lot even though things didn't end up as I had hoped. Now might be my time to make it happen and not be stupid. Though now we need more time and I just want it now.

"Here's your check I'll be back in a few to get it." The waitress says as she walks by dropping the card receipt thing on the table.

"Why do you even want to pay so badly?" Alejandro asks with a chuckle going back to our little harmless argument over who or how we were paying.

"I feel like the guy always pays, I swear I've only ever payed for one date and I've gone on plenty." I answer with a shrug and continue, "but i mean it's not a big deal I'm not going to break up with someone because they won't let me pay the bill, that's ridiculous."

"You're so cute, I guess I'll let you pay next time but was this even a date? I mean I just got out of a three week relationship." Alejandro questions like I know the answer.

"Well i was just saying that I've only payed on one date maybe two. And you invited me to this so I guess it's whatever you say it is." I reply with an awkward chuckle.

We finally head out of the restaurant and it's already almost two. We got here around twelve thirty because my hungover ass slept in. But I like this, being spontaneous I think I should do it more often.

I decided to hangout with Alejandro the rest of the day after he suggested it. I mean the more we hangout the faster it'll get back to the old ways.

We sit on his bed next to each other scrolling through YouTube on his tv. Probably just to play music or watch vines while I eat cereal from a bowl without milk.

"I swear the only time I see people eating cereal as a snack was in like third grade." Alejandro chuckles teasing me for my food choice.

"I swear the only people who play fortnite are twelve year olds but yet here you are." I joke back causing him to roll his eyes and shake his head.

"Damn no need to roast me I was just saying." Alejandro playfully cries looking over at me, he looks happy in this moment and he's just come from a break up.

Is it bad that I wanted to kiss him? Maybe I just desperately need some sort of sexual activity you know like I'm dehydrated or some.

I think Alejandro knows something is up though because he's still watching me like he wants it too. But it's best if we don't rush anything.

I quickly look away and glance on the ground besides me before I reluctantly look back at him. He was still watching in admiration clearly holding in a chuckle.

He pulled me closer to him and now we're inches apart, his hand rest on my cheek ready to initiate a kiss. I bite my lip due to habit as his thumb strokes my face but he seems to like it.

I couldn't wait any longer and I connect my lips to his and rest my hands on his neck. I could feel the goosebumps on my arms forming.

As he deepened the kiss I found myself struggling to resist or pull away and I did what my mind and body told me to. But I still have my questions and doubts, what if this was the wrong decision and he was just going to play me again?

I gasped for air as he slightly pulled away and only to be pulled back in again a few seconds later.

Maybe they fucked maybe they didn't. Anyways this chapter is lame for the most part but anyways. I kind of want to have a physical fight happen but I don't know who I'd make fight, like just make Katie randomly appear again???
