CHAPTER 37
NARRATIVE

Of course here we are at another party, I mean us teenagers don't do much. The group was telling me how these parties aren't ever very crowded due to having an invite list for you know the "cool" people.

Gage places his hand on my lower back, leading me through the party. I definitely like the amount of space we have, I hate being right up on like 6 different people while dancing.

"Okay so my buddy that threw this party he wants to meet the new girl that I added on the list, aka you." Gage states as he hands me a drink.

"Fine, where is this Jake or whatever his name is?" I question crossing my arms before looking around for someone I don't even know.

"His name is Jeff and he is coming right now, I told him we are here." Gage answers as the man the myth the legend appears besides us.

The guy Jeff and Gage do like a bro handshake thing before Jeff sticks his hand in front of me like we're professional adults meeting.

"So you're the new American everyone is talking about, I'm disappointed we don't have any classes." Jeff rambles as he messes with his blonde hair.

"Yeah that's me, sadly." I chuckle jokingly before finishing the rest of whatever alcohol Gage got for us.

"Well you two kids have some fun, I gotta go find my man." Jeff says, walking away from us.

The twins and Beau ditched us upon entrance or we ditched them, I don't know. So now it was just the two of us again, I've been here 3 weeks and I've spent more time with him then the whole group combined.

I drag Gage over to the living room area where most of the dancing is happening, so we could dance.

"I don't dance." Gage states, shaking his head and letting go of my hand to cross his arms across his chest.

"Well now you do, and if you stay for a few I'll do whatever with you for the rest of the party." I say with a smirk, knowing he'd say yes.

We dance around for about 15 minutes until Gage got bored and said we should find everyone else. Everyone was in like a game room area playing cup pong or making out in the corner. You know, the norm.

"Guys come play with us." Beau and Amber state as they point at the empty side of the table, where they had just finished setting up a new game.

We join the game and end up losing, and in this "version" we now have to do what they tell us. It could go one of two ways, they play match maker or some or we have to some crazy shit in front of everyone.

"Have fun skinny dipping you two." Amber chuckles with a wink, following us as we head towards the back door so they know we aren't ditching on them.

We hear the two lock the door behind us like we can't just leave because there isn't a fence around the house. I watch as Gage pulls his shirt off, showing off some nice abs. I mean Alejandro also had abs so it's not a big deal.

"Stop staring unless you want me staring at you too." Gage chuckles, unbuckling his belt. It's not like we are getting fully naked though, I don't necessarily have a problem if anyone watches, they'll see it all anyways.

I follow him into the lake after getting undressed, surprisingly it's nice and quiet outside besides for the bass boost you could feel from the party.

"I'm guessing this isn't what you expected?" Gage questions as we tread water to stay afloat after we got to the middle of the small lake.

"You can't really expect anything at parties, one party we almost supposedly got shot up. At least I'm enjoying my time, though now I'm going to be wet and cold the rest of the night." I answer with a chuckle.

"A party is kind of the reason I'm here in France with my mom, but let's not get deep and shit." Gage states before playfully splashing me with the nasty lake water.

We messed around for who knows how long and in the heat of the moment we kissed, his lips against mine. But all I could think about was Alejandro and how I'm not over him yet, I don't know what came over me but it made me uncomfortable.

We both get out of the lake due to it getting a little awkward and it's hard kissing while treading water. I don't even know why we went in that far.

While we sit in the grass for a few, drying off so we don't completely soak our clothes, Gage says, "I'm sorry about, I shouldn't have done that."

"It's okay, I liked it." I awkwardly chuckle, putting my wet hair into a ponytail so I'm more comfortable. I need to get over Alejandro because I don't hope to go back anytime soon.

ALEJANDRO POV

"Have you talked to Monae at all?" Mattia questions even though he probably knows the answer. I don't even know why he brought it up, is trying to get a shot with Monae again?

"Not in a couple of weeks, there isn't anything really to talk about. But she do be getting over it and making new friends easily." I answer as I drive towards Vic's house to hangout and surprise her.

Of course, I still miss Monae but, none of us know when she's coming back. I mean Monae and I said we'd try and keep our feelings the same. You know just in case she came back soon ish, but that's just wasted time, and I know she agrees.

If Monae does come back soon, the old beef with Vic might come back. All because Vic is helping me get over her, it was my idea. I mean it was Monae's decision not to even try long distance. 

Prom's in a couple of weeks and since Vic and I are both single and our history I'm asking her to it. I got the boys to help me come up with some ideas, grand gestures are cute and all, I just don't like doing them but I know I should.

"Bro you got this, she'll say yes." Hype man Mattia reassures over the phone. I sit in my car on a group call with Mattia and Kairi who're helping me feel better about this as I sit in front of her driveway.

"You're already in front of her house, there is no going back now." Kairi chuckles, trying to give his best efforts.

"This is why no one goes to you for advice." I joke before finally getting over myself and heading out of my car.

I knock on Vic's front door, I texted her earlier to answer it herself. I hold the cliche prom poster in front of me waiting for her to appear on the other side of the door.

I decided not to do this at school because I'm not that comfortable with everyone and their mama watching. I listen as the door finally unlocks, revealing a surprised faced Vic.

"will you go to prom with me?"
