•Toms pov•
"I couldn't do anything for her mum.. Haz was the only one who could comfort her. I feel like such a failure.." I say. "Not to mention before that happened she got upset with me cause apparently the new girl I hired and I were flirting.. I had no clue! I don't know what to do.."
She sighs, sipping her tea.
"Well, first of all if she thinks that your new employee is flirting she's probably right. You need to put up some boundaries. And with the ex boyfriend situation, you have to realize Haz was there through all of that with her. He's her familiar comfort when it comes to that mess. There's nothing you can do about that, they're best friends honey.." she explains.
She's right. About everything.
"Okay mum" I nod. "I'll fix it"
"I'm proud of you" she smiles. "You finally found a girl that's worth it"
"I definitely did.. I think I love her mum." I say.
My mum is the only one I talk to this deeply. She understands, and she helps. I love my Mum.
"Tell her, Tom." She says.
"It's too soon.." I say.
"It's never too soon to express how much you care about someone.." she says.
My office door opens and I see my beautiful girlfriend enter the room.
"Oh I had no clue you were busy, I'll come back" she says.
"I was actually just about to leave, just a morning stop." My mum says, standing up.
"Are you sure?" Lia asks and my mum nods with a smile, hugging Lia.
"Yes, good to see you sweetheart" she says.
"You too, Nikki. Have a good day" Lia says.
"Bye mum" I call.
"Bye you two" my mum waves, leaving the office.
Lia walks over, sitting down in front of my desk.
"So yesterday.. I know I shouldn't have chosen Haz over you." She says.
"Baby it's fine, don't feel bad for that. I know he's your best friend and I know you two grew up together and have a special bond. I understand." I say, causing a small smile to rise on her face.
My office door opens and I look up, seeing Erica walking in.
Okay.. do what Mum told you to do.
"Mrs Willard" I greet. "What can I do for you?"
I already see a disappointed look in Lia's eyes. I'll be damned if I let any girl make her feel like she's not the most important person in my life.
"Well I finished this whole project early" she says. "Figured I could maybe help out on the California resort project?"
That's Lia's project, and far too difficult for her job placement.
"You are not trained for that job, and Lia is doing just a fine job on her own" I say. "You can go through these files, making sure they're all signed and dated"
I hand her a handful of files, and she looks extremely confused. Did she expect to do well for two days and I'd magically give her harder jobs?
"Okay" she nods.
"Oh and two quick things" I start. "Firstly could you please knock before entering my office. Secondly when you finish your work early, direct yourself to Mr. Osterfields office instead of mine, he can give you lots to work on"
"Oh- yes sir" she nods.
Lia was right, she's completely confused with me treating her like a normal employee.
"Dismissed" I say, to which she turns awkwardly and leaves the office.
Lia raises her brow at me, sitting up.
"You're the most important girl in my life and I'm not going to let anyone make you feel less than that" I say, and she smiles, a blush rising on her cheeks. I watch my girl get all shy and adorable from my comment, I just want to be with her right now.
"Go get your stuff, let's leave early" I say.
"Don't you think Haz will notice we both left?" She asks me.
"Text him and tell him he's off early, then text Stassie to hang out with him" I say.
"Smart boy. This is why I'm with you" she says, standing up and leaning over my desk to kiss me before walking out.

•Amelia's pov•
I clear off my desk, making sure to lock my office.
"I'm headed out, Stassie is making me chocolate cream pie, and that's not the dessert" Haz winks and I gag.
"God Haz I don't want to hear it" I laugh.
"Have fun, I sure will" he says, leaving the office.
I pull out my phone, texting Stassie a thank you.
"There's my pretty girl" I hear, feeling Toms hands on my hips and his lips on my jaw.
"Tommy were in the hallway people could see us" I giggle, pushing him off me gently.
"Then we better get going" he says, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the office to the elevator.
Once the doors close he pulls me in for a soft kiss, smiling as his lips move against mine.
"Can we go get ice cream?" I ask, barely parted from his lips.
"I thought we'd spend the rest of the day.. in bed" he says, giving me his dark bedroom eyes.
"Pretty please?" I say, fluttering my lashes at him.
He smiles, kissing my forehead.
"Course baby doll, who could say no to that face?"
The elevator doors open and we step off.
"Have a nice evening Mr. Holland, Mrs. Daniels" Greta says from her spot at the desk.
"Thank you Greta!" I smile, walking out with him.
"You know, she has the elevator surveillance sitting right in front of her" Tom whispers to me.
My mouth drops, looking back to see her shoot me a smile. Oh she knows..
"She won't tell anyone" Tom laughs.
We get in his car, and he starts driving downtown.
"Let me guess" he says, thinking for a moment. "Your favorite ice cream flavor is cookie dough"
"You're close. Cookies and cream" I say. "I bet yours is vanilla bean because you're basic"
"Hey! There is nothing basic about vanilla!" He says and I laugh. I knew it!
We get to the ice cream shop and get out of his car. He grabs my hand as we walk down to the shop.
"Our first casual date" I say with a smile.
"You don't like the fancy restaurants?" He questions.
"I do, but it's nice to just be us, out and about getting ice cream." I say.
"You are wonderful" he says, leaning down and kissing me.
We step inside the shop, walking up to the counter. Of course Tom gets his vanilla and I get cookies and cream.
I slip my card to the lady at the register and she swipes it as the other lady hands Tom his ice cream.
He turns to see me taking the receipt and raises his brow at me.
"Who's the millionaire here?" He asks jokingly.
"Me because you're going to give me a raise" I stick my tongue out at him before licking my ice cream.
We walk around, popping into a few shops here and there. He practically offers to pay for anything I show even slight interest in, and I groan.
"Stop trying to buy me things, Thomas." I say.
"Why? Just let me spoil you. I want to give you the world, Lia." He says, swinging our arms as we walk.
"I'm not with you for your money. I'm not your ex." I say.
He stops walking, turning to me and pulling me closer to him.
"I know you're not, sweetheart. That doesn't mean you can refuse to let me treat you." He frowns.
"Fine. Buy me a Tesla" I joke.
"What color?" He asks.
"Hmmm, what's more flashy? Lime green or neon blue?" I ask.
"Definitely lime green" he nods.
"Alright, lime green it is" I giggle.
Ah, I love spending time with him.
