As she looked around everything was shining with the light rays of the summer sun, the rattling sounds of the cicadas, and the river flow followed by the green falling leaves of the oak trees. Safe spots below the shadows of the trees from the blazing sun, Ak74M eyes kept on bouncing around the scenery, green grass flowing with the cold river breezes, flowers and dandelions growing on the empty patches of dirt and most importantly the evaporating dew that disappeared slowly with the morning, and now almost non-existent, morning mist.
It almost numbed her mind this peaceful sight as she only could remember all the dire and horrible things she did just a year ago, and even more months or days, from killing innocent people to hurting someone she loved. It was a soothing feeling of being able to forget everything and just enjoy the view.
Then not after long she heard footsteps behind her, turning around made her broken combat uniform cling with the wind, the sun now glowing upon the NUSSR flag she had on her shoulder as her black combat boots reflected the little sunlight they received towards the right.
Looking at the figure, she saw a male standing in front of her, black messy hair decorated with some white hairs, an eyepatch covering one of his eyes as his neck was bandaged up as well as his hole torso by the looks of it. All this covered by his white tank top that was below a green trench coat that rested above his shoulders.
Nikolay: Enjoying the view?
He suddenly said with a tired smile on his face, afterward approaching her and standing beside her, now both of them looking down at the rivers flow.
Ak74M: It's nice a view Sergeant
Nikolay: I'm not an official anymore...
He replied softly as he kept on looking at the river and took out a cigarette from his almost burnt package, placing it between his lips and taking a deep inhale with the lighter on his hands.
Ak74M: And I'm no longer a T-Doll
Nikolay: Because we are all considered dead heroes for our country
He said still with the lighter on his hands, but yet he didn't ignite the cigar, just kept it on his mouth swinging it slightly up and down with every breath he took.
Ak74M: So we are no longer subjects of the motherland...
Nikolay: Even though our past selves died there for its peaceful forests and mountains
He replied once again, this time looking at his lighter, seeing how he ran out of fuel to light anything long ago.
Ak74M: It's kinda depressing to think we won't be remembered, not even by our friends...
Nikolay: It's the price of our failure, the consequences of our hearts actions
Ak74M: That sounds unnecessary deep Serge
Nikolay: Yeah... Should have said my failure instead
He remarked with a light giggle, Ak74M glanced at him after hearing it and afterward looked back at the river, chin tall and hands behind her back, head slightly tilted to the right as her eyes followed a fish that tried to challenge the rivers flow.
Ak74M: I think our failure sounds better comrade
Nikolay: Our failure or not we are still ghosts of the past, now mere Mr.nobodys... Kinda funny knowing we already were Mr.nobodys
Ak74M: That sure does hit different when you have nothing to fight for
She replied and heard a light chuckle coming from him at that statement.
