I regained my composure. Ngumisi ako at sumingkit ang aking mga mata. Pinagkrus ko ang aking mga braso.

“Hmm... you have become somewhat bold. I-I guess the three years is not so bad, huh?” I managed not to get voice shaken.

“Can I hug you?” I bit the inside of my cheeks. I suspiciously eyed at him. He does not seem to be embarrassed of what he said.

Tell me that this is just an act. His personality could not have changed over three years.

“Just hug?” I raised my brow. Maharan akong suminghal. “A kiss is better, Your Highness.” I sarcastically said. Hindi siya sumagot at muli akong niyapos. I bit my lower lip again to prevent it from trembling of embarrassment.

What is this? I should be the one doing the first move to see his embarrassed, crying face. Why is he doing this? Does he love me that much for him to do this? What is more is that he does not seem bothered of our skin-ship.

I quietly clicked my tongue.

This is not fair. “It seems like you really miss me.”

“Yes, I really miss you. I have been so lonely. Walang araw na hindi kita iniisip.” He leaned his head on my shoulder. My hand unconsciously rose up and gently tapped it. His green, silky hair tickled my hand as I ruffled it. He snuggled and his hot breath tickled my neck. Bumuntong-hininga ako nang tumayo ang aking balahibo. I felt a hot sensation from all over my body.

So this is body heat. How nostalgic. I remember being held by men that I deeply acquainted with in the past but it has only gone up to kissing. That was all.

Kumurap ako nang ilang beses.

“Well, I can say it is the same for me.” I chuckled. “I miss you, too.” Bulong ko.

“That’s...” I heard his sigh. I cannot see his face but I felt him smiled. “...a relief.” My balls fists of what he said

“I-It is hot in here. Do not hug me so tight.” Kumawala ako sa kanyang pagkakayapos. My hand went to my face and lightly tapped it. His soft expression made me turn my head away. His eyes saddened and went down.

Why is he making that disappointed expression? Parang nais niya pa akong yakapin hanggang sa umaga.

Inayos ko ang aking buhok. I tightly closed my eyes and opened it.

“I am sorry. That is right, I should not touch you. It will be indece---” I swiftly wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a peck in his lips. Namilog ang kanyang mga mata at namula siya. Ngumisi ako.

Yes, this is it. This is the Rionsky I know, the easily shy and embarrassed one.  “Ari---” Isang halik ulit. He stiffened. I cannot stop smirking in the middle of kissing him. Muli kong idiniin ang aking mga labi sa kanya. His lips parted, making it easier to access his mouth. I bit his lower lip when I took a step back. He is still frozen.

Well, that was good.

“Satisfied?” I bit my index finger. He gasped in realization. Umiwas siya ng tingin at tinakpan ang mukha sa hiya.

He looks like a maiden who just got her first kiss.

I blinked twice.

Oh well, that should be his first since he is innocent about things like this.

“W-Why did you kiss me?”

“Hmm... the Rionsky I know has come back, huh?” I tucked my hair in my ear.

“W-What are you talking about?”

“It seems like the you earlier was an act. Bakit mo iyon ginawa?” Sumingkit ang aking mga mata. He cleared his throat.

“N-Nothing. I just felt like it.”

“Really?” Taimtim kong sinabi.

“Yes.” He said, still averting his gaze. Tahimik akong suminghal.

It seems like his art of lying did not progress over these years. Well, it is convenient for me to easily find out if he is lying or not.

“Is that so? I thought you wanted cool in front of me.” I crossed my arms. Ilang beses siyang kumurap. Hindi ko napigilan ang mapahalakhak sa kanyang reaksiyon. I wiped the water coming out from my eyes.

How long has it been since I was able to laugh this hard in amusement? I cannot remember. “I was right, huh?”

“Stop it.” He covered his blushing face more. His gaze penetrated me me again. It made me heart flutter.

“Cute.”

“Huh?” He said. Bumaba ang kanyang mga braso. His reaction is as if he was struck down by lightning. Tumabingi ako at napakurap.

“Oh, did I just say it out loud?” I sighed.

I should be more careful and oblivious,

Napahawak ako sa aking buhok at ginulo iyon.

“You think I’m cute?” He tilted his head in adorable way. I pursed my lips. Sumeryoso siya.

Good grief, how can I not call him cute when he really is?

“Is it not?”

“W-Why would you call me that? Of course, I will not be happy if the girl I love calls me cute!” Singhal niya. I was a bit taken aback of what he said because of his oblivious confession. His Adams apple moved. Mas lalo siyang namula. Pinagkrus niya ang kanyang mga braso upang takpan ulit ang kanyang mga mata. His tears are cracking up again.

This is really cute. How should I stop myself from teasing him?

“It is good that you still love me.”

“I did not say that.” He snorted. I just shrugged my shoulders.

“By the way, I noticed that you suck at kissing.” Ngisi ko. My eyes squinted of my remark.

“I-t can’t be helped! That was my first time.” He defended.

“Ah, yes. Of course, my Rionsky is a virgin.” Umirap siya.

“How about you? It seemed like you are good at it. How did you learn from it?” Mababang ani niya. Tumaas ang aking kilay.

“Well, what is this? Are you jealous?”

“No.”

“Let us see. Am I really good at it?” Ani ko. I acted to think about it.

“Wha---” Pumunta ang aking kamay sa kanyang mukha at hinila papalapit sa akin. I stole a kiss again. Namilog ulit ang kanyang mga mata. His lips are closed so I bit his lip. Napaawang ang kanyang mga labi. I deepened the kiss, swirling my tongue inside his mouth. Hindi ko napigilang mapangisi nang ipinikit niya ang kanyang mga mata at sumabay sa aking halik. He answered my kisses so lousy. Our exchange of kisses were loud that it echoed throughout the room.

It is clear that that he is not used to it but he sure has a talent for addicting me deeper to him. Even his kisses are cute, that is so like him.

He let out a soft, cute moan when I roughly bit his lower lip and pulled apart. Dumugo ang kanyang labi. He immediately covered his mouth and he flustered. Umiwas siya ng tingin.

“Well, am I good at it?”

“So you have kissed others.” Disappointment was hinted. My lips pressed against each other.

It is true but it is also not. I have not kissed anyone in this life other than my ex-boyfriends from my past life. Well, it is not like I can say that to him. Hindi rin naman siya maniniwala kahit sabihin ko iyon. Even if he asks me, I do not have an obligation to answer him since he is not my boyfriend.

“I do not know.” He grunted of my retort. Pinagkrus niya ang kanyang mga braso.

He really is jealous. How cute.

“I am going back in my palace.” Tumalikod siya at akmang aalis. He wore the hood of his cloak.

“Already?”

“I am busy.” Pagtatampo niya. Binasa ko ang aking mga labi. I flicked my hair and tilted my head.

“Rea---”

“I forgot.” He said, interrupting me. He turned to me with a flushed face. To my surprise, he cupped my cheeks and suddenly crashed his lips against mine. It was just for a second but I can still feel his lips against mine. Natulala ako at wala sa sariling napahawak sa aking mga labi. He drifted away in an instant. Nasa may bintana na siya. His hand is placed on the window door while his leg is stepping on the window frame. Itinangay ng hangin ang kanyang buhok. The scene in front of my eyes is spectacular. It is breathtaking. “I will await for your order, Arisia.” Malamig niyang sabi at tumingin sa akin. His lips parted his eyes squinted. Ilang beses akong napakurap. Tumalon siya at nawala na. Tanging ang ihip ng hangin lang ang aking kasama.

What was that? I did not even realized that my I was holding my breath.

Naramdaman ko ang pag-iinit ng aking mukha.

I guess he can be cool sometimes.

“You adorable prince... you cannot just steal a kiss and run away.” My eyes squinted. Bumuntong-hininga ako at lumapit sa bintana. My hand went to the railing.

“Good for you, my lady.” Biglaang sulpot ni Hilda sa aking tabi. I was not surprised since I am already used to it.

I mean, she always do it. There is a limit to how I can be surprised.

“Hilda.” I gulped. “Hanggang kailan ka pa naririto?”

“It is a secret.” She sighed.

It looks like it was in the middle of our embarrassing scene so she does not want to answer it. Fine. “It will be fine, my lady. A few more dates and establishing your real relationship to him and you can go to heaven.” She gave out a thumbs-up. She smiled a meaningful one. Umirap ako.

“You must be mistaken, Hilda. I do not need to do it with a person I like. Either way is fine.” She gasped. I shook my head off her acting.

“My lady, you are---”

“Do not put me in the same line as those prostitutes. I am way higher out of their league.” Sarkastiko ko. Pinagkrus ko ang aking mga braso. Tumingin ako sa labas ng bintana. The scenery of the night sky filled with the bright, yellow moon and the twinkling, aligned stars fascinated me.

“Yes, my lady.” She snorted. I kicked her out of my room after that.

“Well, what should I do now?”

I was called upon the Main Palace by the king and queen some days later. We are currently in the clear, green garden of the palace. I did not pay further attention for it any longer and followed the maze-like path with the king’s right-hand man. I straightened my gaze to my path until I saw the king and queen.

“Greetings, Your Majesty, the queen and king.” Yumuko ako. The king raised his hand and nodded. The queen smiled a fake one. Palihim akong umirap. I returned a fake smile. My eyes squinted.

It will not be long to bow down to this two-faced queen. I just need to deal with it any longer, a year or so.

“You can take a seat.” The king authoritatively said. His right-hand man gestured me to the seat in front of the royalties. They have prepared it well.

“It is an honor to be at your sights.” I gracefully took my seat. I am not nervous at all. I have been granted an audience with them since the past years, I would not even falter even a bit.

“You should be used to calling us Father and Mother now.” Tumawa ang hari sa kanyang sinabi.

“Pardon? But that would be disrespectful.” Itinawa ko rin ito.

“Don’t exaggerate. We will soon be families.” Tango niya.

Unlike the queen, they sure are the opposite of each other. It is true that the compatibility of the people within a loveless marriage is not important, a mutual understanding is. Their only similarity is their magnificent, intimidating presence that royalties do have in common.

Pasimple akong sumipsip sa tsaa na inihanda para sa akin. “It is time to set the date of the wedding.” Palihim akong napangisi.

As I have thought, this is the reason why they have called for me. Since the second prince, Heiden, victoriously came back from the war, they are thinking that it is time for him to settle down and marry. He is also of the marriageable age, twenty. I will not be surprised if I found out that the queen suggested for it. Meanwhile, the crown prince, when will they find him a bride?

“Yes?” Nagkunwari akong nabigla. I tilted my head.



“Why are you so surprised? You have waited for my son for years. Now that he is back from a victorious war, this should be a perfect time to hold your wedding.” The queen butted in. Ngumisi siya.

“Is that so? How about the second prince? Had he been already consulted of it, Father, Mother?” Ngisi ko din. I swayed along their whims.

“You adapt well. You should also call my son by his name. He will be your husband soon. That is an uncomfortable way of calling him.”

“Thank you, Mother.”

“It will be all right. My son would agree to it.” I mentally snorted.

He does not know his son well, huh? He is not the type to agree to things like that. If that were to happen, he has some kind of a plan for it. In fact, he can kill her without even batting an eye. In short, he just need her for him to to have more power and authority. Kapag wala ng silbi ay itatapon na lamang niya ang kanyang ina.

“Yes, Mother.” Tumango ako at ngumiti.

“How about in less than a half a year?” The king suggested. He crossed his arms.

“That is fine by me, Father.” I answered in monotone.

“And of course, you also need to have your time with him.” Kumunot ang aking noo sa kanyang sinabi. “With that, I have arranged a trip for you two around the empire.” Ilang beses akong kumurap sa kanyang mga sinabi. Napatabingi ulit ako. I smiled in confusion.

What did he just say? Why suggest that damned crap? A trip with Heiden?

I silently scoffed.

“I am deeply thankful for it, Father, Mother.” My eyes squinted as I smiled. I acted grateful for it.

Good grief, that was not a part of my calculation. I know the king is sometimes playful but this is just a blasphemy for me.

I gritted my teeth.

Here I was, relieved that I can finally break free from Heiden’s watch, this is so bothersome. I need to come up with another plan, huh?
