Easy company had been moved to Upottery, Meehan had taken over for Sobel and they had also gained a lieutenant called Lynn Compton who everyone called Buck, rose had met him and instantly became friends, he was funny and treated her like everyone else and most importantly, he was most likely the only one that was not shocked to see a women.

Easy company was sat in a large area listening to Meehan who stood on the stage telling them the mission, rose sat next to Roe as they both listened intently to what easy company were meant to do.

Easy company was now getting ready to jump into france, they were all packing and rose was giggling as she listening to Toye moan about how much he had to carry, "three day supply of rations, chocolate bars, candy powder, coffee, sugar, matches, compass, bayonet, entrenching tool, amanition, gas mask, my weapon, my 45, canteen, two cartons of smokes, two grenades, smoke grenade, gamma grenade, this bull shit and a pair of nasty skivies" Toye finished his long list as Frank rolled his eyes in rose direction as she made sure she had all her medic things. "what's your point?" Frank asked as he packed "this stuff weighs as much as i do..." rose walked away from his complaining as she had finished packing and made her way to Luz, "Johnson!" her name was shouted and she was handed a letter, she quickly opened it and read it. The letter was from her mother and father wishing her luck and best wishes as they had been told she was about to jump into europe.

"listen up" Lipton shouted "if you have not signed your life insurance policy, go over and see sargent Evans, don't let your families miss out on $10,000"

Rose had made her way to Luz to see Malarky struggling on the ground, she bent down and began to help him, "why are they springing these stuff on us now?" Luz stated "it's just an extra 80 pounds strapped to your leg" Rose stood from her crouched position and began helped Luz who had asked "do any of you have any idea how this thing works?" After helping, rose sat eating ice-cream from the same bowl as Bill "get your own bowl" he complained but when rose took another spoonful he gave up. A piece of paper was handed to them but before they began to read it Luz read it out loud copying Sink's accent "soldiers of the regiment, tonight is the night" Luz stopped his impression as he read on "off nights, today as you read this you're on route to the great adventure of which you have trained for over two years" rose looked toward Bill before taking the last spoonful of ice-cream "that's why they gave us ice-cream, hey!" Bill shouted once he realized his bowl was empty.

Before easy company could go on the great adventure weather got in the way and the jump was called off for now, everyone was sat watching a movie as rose lent her head on Luz's shoulder and began to fall asleep.
