The next day the johnson family stood at the train station, it was time for Rose to leave for training and she was excited. William wrapped his daughter in a hug, "you'll be alright just listen to the NCOs and COs."

The father stepped back and picked Timothy up, he had tears rushing down his cheeks Rose looked at her younger brother and smiled sadly, "it'll all be alright deartháir (brother), I'll be home before you know it." Timothy nodded and then stuffed his face into his dad's shoulder.

Rose then walked towards Clodagh who wrapped her in a hug, "tabhair aire duit féin (take care of yourself)" she said as she pulled away "whoever you land up with will be happy to have you." she added.

The train horn blared and Rose walked to the door giving her family one last wave before entering and finding a seat staring out of the window at her family who was waving her goodbye, Clodagh Johnson stared at the train as it began to move whispering to her daughter who could no longer hear her "slán mo stóirín (goodbye my darling)"
