The Girl In The War (Under Editing)

Part Three

Soon easy company were on boats making their way across a river to rescue some Brits which they did with minimal injuries, Rose was busy fixing up a couple of British soldiers who were all surprised to see a women while everyone celebrated. She got the attention of a small red devil and asked "hey, do you know where i can find..." she looked down at the paper Roe had given her of the injured soldiers "Alberts" she was pointed towards a tall dark haired man who held his arm which was stuck in an awkward potion, "hey" she said as she sat next to him "let me have a look" The man stared wide eyes at Rose before he held out his arm "don't take offense to this but what is a women doing here?" Rose smiled at Alberts before she quickly pulled his arm to set it in place, he let out a hiss of pain as Rose began to wrap his arm in a sling "same as you, helping my country" Once she had done she walked off trying to find the next Brit on the list.

It had been a couple of days and Rose had been helping out in the makeshift aid station, when she was shouted to move with Eugene "Moose has been hit" they both grabbed their bags and got a car ready to take him to the hospital. Eugene helped Winters and Welsh get Moose into the car "did you give him morphine?" Rose asked while getting the bandages ready for Eugene. Welsh gulped when he realized he didn't have an answer "2...3 maybe" he said knowing that when Rose glared at him, Eugene quickly moved while talking "2, 3 maybe?" Rose blocked out Roe's voice as he shouted at Welsh and Winters, he got in the truck with him and Rose whipped around to have her shout when Welsh said "he was in a lot of pain we didn't know what to do" Rose breathed slowly before saying "i know he would have been in a lot of pain but you gotta know what to do, your officers, your grown ups you gotta know what to do" She slammed the doors closed and watched at the truck pulled away hopefully saving Moose's life. Rose walked away from Welsh and Winters and they watched her, Welsh turned to Richard and asked "did you feel like you were being told off by your mother?" Winters smiled down at the ground and then looked at Welsh's shocked face "i felt like i was ten again"

Easy company was in Mourmelon-le-grand in France where they got a new lieutenant, Norman Dike who in Rose's opinion was pretty useless. While they were stationed she was able to send out some letters and she was currently sat drinking coffee with Welsh, Nixon and Winters "how's Dike doing?" Nixon asked which caused Rose to cough holding in her laugh at Welsh's reply "three weeks in holland and the guys are already calling him foxhole Norman" Richard looked towards the medic and shook his head slightly and looked towards Nixon as he spoke "well their talking about a mid march action at the earliest, so train your guys for three months we jump into Berlin we end the war" Nixon stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world, "the only thing holding easy company together are the NCO's and the Toccoa men... and women" Richard said as the door opened and Bill Guarnere walked in "hi captain" he said as he shook Winters hand "welcome back Bill" Rose jumped up from her seat and wrapped Bill in a hug who gladly hugged back "so it's true, i never thought i'd see you behind a desk sir. I just went AWOL from the hospital to get back here, i hope that's not gonna cause you a problem" Rose sat back down in her seat as Richard asked if he would care and Rose knew that he wouldn't, Bill was the kind of guy who would always want to be with easy company to help out.

Bill held out a letter to Richard "i got a letter from Moose... err... lieutenant Heyliger, he's recovering but it's gonna take a long time" Rose lit up a cigarette as Bill left and Nixon pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket "whats that?" Richard asked "a piece of paper, i don't want to see another piece of paper" he stated which cause Rose to laugh "you are heading to Paris, that's a 48 hour pass" Rose stated as she smiled "go have some fun"
