Once Rose got back to the town she was still holding the baby close to her body, she walked past the easy company men who stared at her slightly as she walked past, they didn't know what she held in her arms and Rose didn't want them too. Rose stopped walking when Speirs stepped in front of her "i told you to come back" he stated "you were meant to come back with the rest of the men you took but you didn't" Rose looked down at the bundle in her arms and slightly moves her so Speirs could see her "i was delivering her" was all Rose said before she was guided to sit down. The easy company men that were still outside looked down at the baby in the medics arms "do you think, someone could find some milk or something?" she said which caused Speirs to order the men around her to find some food for the baby.
That night was one of the longest nights for Rose, she couldn't sleep as she watched over the baby who was sleeping in the box in a bundle of old blankets. The next day Rose carried the baby outside of the house they had stayed in to see Speirs talking with a nurse "i'm here to take the baby" the nurse said as she went to grab the baby from Rose's arms and Rose reluctantly handed the baby over to the Nurse who immediately took her away. Speirs placed a gentle hand on Rose shoulder as they both watched the nurse and baby disappear "will she be alright?" Rose asked not taking her eyes off the spot the baby once was "yeah"
Rose was stood with Malarkey when she found out that Hitler was dead but the war wasn't over and Rose knew that now that the german soldiers didn't have anyone to fight for the war in Europe would soon be over and she was more likely to go to the Pacific.
