The Girl In The War (Under Editing)

Part Four

It was silent in the patrol until gunshots rang out around them. The patrol had hit the german front line "medic" was shouted which caused Rose to run to the front and hide behind Johnny who was shooting at the Germans, she looked over and saw Julian bleeding from his neck "put pressure on it" she ordered as she pulled out a bandage and tried to grab Julian in order to pull him out of the line of fire so she could treat his wounds. Rose screamed in pain as a bullet went through her arm, blood dripped onto the snow as she pulled her arm back and cradelled it, Rose put aside her pain and began to reach for him again. Rose was soon joined in trying to get Julian by Babe who kept telling Julian to stop moving and to keep pressure on the wound, Rose lay on her stomach and crawled forward until she felt Julian's hand in hers and she began to pull, Babe grabbed the other hand and began to pull as well until they had him hidden behind the trees. Rose began to wrap the neck wound but too much blood had been lost and Julian's life faded from his eyes, "what are you doing?" Babe asked as he saw Rose stop working "help him" he ordered but he saw that Julian was dead when he looked down at him. Johnny looked towards Julians body as Christianson shouted "we have to move back" Johnny looked towards Rose who nodded at him "move back" he shouted as Julian's body was picked up and everyone retreated, running the way they had come.

Once everyone was back Rose saw Eugene working on a bullet wound while she helped carry Julian while soldiers shot at the front line of the Germans, "whats going on?" Nixon asked Martin "they got Julian" he stated looked over at the body which had Rose and Babe beside him, Babe was staring blankly at the body while rose patted his shoulder gently. "did you hit an OP or their line?" Nixon asked "their line sir" Nixon looked towards the soldiers "ok fall back" he ordered, Rose looked around "where's Peacock?" she asked and Nixon placed his hand on her shoulder "back at CP" he stated which caused Rose to look at him questioningly "CP?" she asked, Nixon shrugged his shoulders before helping her backwards.

It wasn't the normal laughter that could be heard while Easy Company ate, Rose stood with Martin talking with Winters "when tiny got to him and pulled him back it was too late" Rose suddenly felt a pain in her arm which caused her to wince "you alright?" Winters asked and looked down at the arm as Rose pulled back her sleeve "yeah i got hit when trying to get to Julian" Rose walked over to Roe who was sat looking at a bar of chocolate "hey Geney" she said as she sat down and held a bandage and her arm out to him and watched him as he bandaged her up.
