Chapter 41

Delta leaves and everyone at Sunset reunites back at the center of the settlement.

Joseph: "Pussies keep retreating."

Clem: "What now?"

Joseph: "We have to hit them back. Go get ready, I'll gather the people and we'll head over there."

Clem nods and walks away. She walks past Mary's house and sees AJ and Ashley coming out. Ashley kisses him on the cheek and runs over to Mary and AJ to Clementine.

Clem: "Are you okay, goofball?"

AJ: "Yeah I'm okay."

Clem: "What was that about?"

AJ: "What?"

Clem: "You and Ashley."

AJ: "She thanked me for por-protecting her and then she kissed me." He says, sounding clueless.

Clem: "That's sweet, AJ."

AJ: "What are we gonna do now?"

Clem: "Me and a group are going to Delta, okay? I'm gonna need you to stay here."

AJ: "But I wanna go."

Clem: "You can't, AJ. It's gonna be too dangerous."

AJ: "I can protect myself, I wanna see Y/N."

Clem: "I know you do, but I'm gonna need you to stay here."

AJ crosses his arms and frowns.

Clem: "I need you here to protect Ashley. Can you do that?"

AJ: "Yeah, I can do that."

Clem: "Good. Go with her and Mary, I'll see you when we come back."

AJ: "Okay, be careful, Clem."

Clem: "I will."

She hugs him one more time and he runs off. She walks over to her house and is met with Violet and Louis in the living room.

Clem: "You guys okay?"

Violet: "Yeah we're fine. What are we gonna do now?"

Clem: "We're heading to Delta to finish this."

Violet: "Everyone?"

Clem: "No, some people are gonna stay just in case they try and come back."

Louis: "I can stay."

Violet: "Yeah, me too."

Clem: "Okay then, we're just gonna go rescue Y/N and Leslie and then we're gonna finish off Delta."

Violet: "Sounds good, be careful."

She nods and they get into a group hug. She leaves the house and walks over to the gate. Joseph walks up to her while holding a large case and hands her a rifle.

Joseph: " You ready?"

Clem: "Yeah. What's that?"

He sets the case down and opens it. He then pulls out an RPG.

Clem: "Where the hell did you get that?"

Joseph: "Y/N found it on a supply run."

Clem: "Bit overkill, but who's complaining?"

Joseph: "It only has one rocket, we're gonna use it to blow their gates open."

Clem: "Sounds good. We should get going."

Joseph puts the RPG back in its case and puts it in the back of a truck.

Joseph: "Let's go! You all know the plan when we get there."
