VII: Deeper connection

The next morning I woke in a deep sweat, sheets were soaked, so I decided to get up and get ready for the trip into the underworld I enter the Kitchen to Rhea giving a Tabetha breakfast.
"You two are going to need your strength today" said the Titan, "here love, I've returned the favour, your breakfast, enjoy, my secret ingredient is ...looooove"

"Doesn't this seem awkward to you at all?" I asked Rhea.

"What do you mean dear?" Asked Rhea, "can I not waltz in whenever I want and make you and my princess breakfast?"

"I mean you being my grandmother and all, can we really still be together? My mortal side is screaming at me SHE'S YOUR GRANDMOTHER" I explained

"We immortals don't have a blood type, ichor, our blood, does not have DNA and so we aren't really blood, it's hard to understand, but it's okay my love" rhea stood to kiss me.

Tabetha rolls her eyes, "child present save it for later" and she walked over to the the fish tank, to talk to her goldfish.

"Okay, but excuse me if my mortal side disagrees, I love you too, I can't help it but I do" I confessed pulling her away from the table, and hugging her waste.

"I'll be at Majesty's when you're ready to leave for the underworld dad" Tabetha took Blackspot out of the tank willing some water so he can breathe, "let's go" said Blackspot.

"We will be a while, so don't rush" Rhea said, and she pulled me out of the Kitchen.

In the living room on the couch making out when she pulled away and said "you see it don't you? A future with me? I need to know you will still love me in hundred years" she asked with her arms around my neck.

"I don't really know, I've never thought about it, but if this is what it's like to have life with you I'm all for it" I said confirming what she wanted to hear, the blinds were closed so we turned off the lights, and the next half an hour was another story.

Under the surface of the ocean, Tabetha was arriving at Majesty's place and the puffer fish let her, " thanks jet, and you too sprout, and they rubbed their head against her hand, as if trying to scratch themselves.

She swam in to find Majesty snoring, so Tabetha went back outside by jet sprout and Blackspot.

"What's the matter Tabby?" Asked sprout, swimming onto her lap.

She gestured for jet and Blackspot to come closer, "it's just that I found out my half sister-in-law murdered my grandmother, and now mum is having alone time with dad".

"Sounds like you need a hug dear" Tabetha turned to see Majesty in the doorway.

"I do, thanks Majesty" and they swam to each other" Tabetha put her around either side of her neck gripping Majesty's Mane.
"Hey don't cry sweetie, it'll be okay" said Majesty trying to be the best friend she could.

Rhea and I were lying on the floor, "I should go. Rhea" I said, "you're amazing"

"Now? Hold me for five more minutes, and call me Ree, I thought I told you that when we met"

I closed my eyes to savour the moment, "you did, and okay"her hair now smelled of the sea from being with me for last hour, and do informed myself away rhea tried to convince me to stay, "just a little longer" she pleaded.

"Honey, Tabby is waiting" I said

"I'm not sure when we can do this again" she replied, "but you're right, she's waiting"

"Okay, but before I go,it might not mean much to an immortal but, would you wear my promise ring?" I asked, and before I knew I was lying on the floor, just been tackled.

"Give me that", she shoved it on her finger, "always"

I put on my boots, and kissed Rhea, "lock up when you leave Ree"

"I gotta go" I jump out the window and race to the ocean, dove into the water and willed myself even faster.i willed the water to push aside the puffer fish, and panted.
"Sorry I'm late honey, but your mother was aaaaah......didn't let me leave so easily" I explained

"Bout time, what were you doing?, never mind it don't wanna know" Tabetha said and she grabbed hold of my hand, and set her foot on the ground, we sunk into the earth.
