TREINTA Y CUATRO • 34

Dilara's POV

I stared at the three pregnancy tests. My heart dropped to my stomach. I walked out with all three and everyone was sat in the living room. Joel instantly stood up and we locked eyes.

I walked over and laid the tests on the coffee table, before turning away from them and covered my face in my hands.

"Positive," Adriana read it out. I breathed shakily, "Mi papa me va a matar," I said as I turned back to them. "Mamá también," Erick sighed. "Not helping," Evaluna glared at him.

"I need air," Joel muttered and walked out. I took in a sharp breath. "He doesn't want it, does he? Oh what am I gonna do now?" I said, starting to panic.

"Calm down, breathe," Camilo said. "If he's not gonna be responsible, you've got us. I'm here for you, we're here for you, everything will be okay," Evaluna said when she walked up to me.

I broke down in tears and she embraced me in a hug. "Oh honey," Adriana mumbled as she came over and joined the hug. "Joel's a dick if he's just gonna ditch the baby you both made," Adriana added.

"You're keeping it right?" Erick asked. I pulled away from the girls and Evaluna handed me a tissue to wipe my tears. I nodded. "I'm keeping it whether or not the baby's father will be here," I said.

"Maybe you should go talk to him," Chris suggested. "Yeah, he's probably just overwhelmed," Richard added. "Knowing Joel, I don't think he'd just let go of his responsibilities like that," Zabdiel added as well.

I sighed. "Can I have your jacket?" I asked Erick and he took it off and gave it to me, leaving him in his shirt. "Thank you," I muttered as I put it on and walked out the door.

I looked out to see him sitting at his doorstep, on the phone with his face in his hand. I looked around for incoming cars before crossing over and sitting down next to him.

I put my hands on my lap and just fiddled with my fingers while waiting for him to end his call. "Bye mom," he muttered and ended the call before keeping his phone in his pocket.

"I was never, never in my life, expecting to have a baby at 23," he said chuckling. "Well, I'm 21 so," I said back with a light chuckle. Joel turned to look at me, before wrapping his arm around my shoulder, and putting his other hand on my stomach.

"We're getting through this together. I told my mom and she's full on supportive," he told me which made me smile. "I was scared you were gonna leave," I said chuckling while looking down.

"I would never. It takes two for this to have happened, you know," he said laughing lightly and so did I. We stayed like that for a while until we heard a car pull up. "Crap," I muttered.

"You know we have to tell them," he said as my parents walked out of the car and rushed over to us. "Hey, how are you feeling? Have you been puking again? Do you feel like fainting again? You need to eat-" my mom rambled and sat down with us but I cut her off before she could continue.

"Mom, I'm okay," I said as my father stoof in front of us. "I-," I stopped to turn to Joel and he smiled at me while rubbing my back reassuringly. "I'm pregnant," I said while looking between my parents.

"De verdad?" my father asked and I nodded. My mom laughed, "You should be happy," she said. "Well, I was scared of how you two would react," I said, starting to smile.

"It's a good thing. I'm gonna be a grandpa!" My dad yelled excitedly making me and Joel laugh. I wiped away the little tear stains I had on my cheeks.

"We should go inside. Everyone's at my place," I said. My father instantly ran over and opened the door. "I'M GONNA BE A GRANDPA!" I heard him yell and some cheering followed.

We laughed and Joel helped me up and we walked towards my place. "Okay good you're back here come sit," Adriana said immediately grabbing my hands and sitting me down on the couch as she sat on the coffee table in front of me.

"Okay you need a doctor's appointment, just to make sure everything's alright," she said to me and I could sense she was gonna ramble on so I said something to stop her.

"I know what I have to do, or at least my mom does and everything will be fine," I said chuckling. She sighed. "At least make me her godmother," Adriana said, shrugging.

"What? No, that'll have to be me!" Evaluna said disagreeing. "We all know I'll be the favourite so it'll be me," Adriana said, flipping her hair.

"Whatever it is, I'll be the favourite tío," Zabdiel exclaimed. "No, no, not true, I'll be related to the kid by blood so he or she will get that instant connection with me," Erick said, disagreeing.

"Nah, I've got Aaliyah. I'll be the favourite," Richard begged to differ. "Guys guys, calm down," Joel sat sitting down next to me. "Let the kid decide who's the favourite," he added.

"If the kid looks more like Dilara he or she will grow up hot," Erick said. "Like me," he added. I scoffed. "Me and Joel are both hot. This kid will be a work of art," I said patting my belly and everyone laughed.

"I can't wait tho, having a mini Jolara running around. Chaotic pero epic," Camilo said. "True, let's just hope the kid doesn't follow Dilara too much. He or she will be a handful," my mom said.

I playfully gasped, placing a hand on my chest. "Mama! Erick was worst!" I exclaimed. Erick threw a pillow at me. "Hey! My baby's in there," Joel said covering me.

"Okay look," Chris said trying to hold in a laugh. "That sounded nasty, dawg," Richard said, laughing. "Get your minds outta the gutter, for real," Joel said, shaking his head.

"Says the one who planted his seed in mi hermana," Erick said slapping the back of Joel's head. "I'm just waiting for the gender reveal so I can start buying things for the baby," my father shrugged.

"Oh god," I muttered. "Our baby's gonna be spoiled," Joel said. "Not saying I won't spoil him too," he added, shrugging. "Or her," I added and he nodded.

"We're keeping this low tho, only friends and family," I said to everyone. "You guys definitely don't need the media to know yet," Ricky said and me and Joel nodded.

"No partying because you're not getting any alcohol," Mau reminded me. I sighed.

There's a lot I have to let go for now. But I'm not really complaining.
