Crawford and Ava walked side by side towards his car to start heading home. It had gotten dark out and the place was pretty much empty, so whenever they didn't talk, the only noise heard was the bugs in the grass or bushes or their feet crunching on leaves seeing as it was already fall.

"We're having a barbecue and bonfire at the KnJ house on Friday if you wanna come? I'm pretty sure Sam and Colby are coming with the others anyway" Crawford offered her, hope filled in his voice as he asked.

"Yeah sure, i'd love to. What time?" She asked him, smiling slightly.

"Come anytime from 5" he told her. She nodded and they soon arrived at his car. They got in and he started driving in the direction of her apartment complex. They sang along to the radio on the journey back and found themselves pulling up to car park in no time. Crawford parked the car and the unbuckled their seat belts straight away.

Ava liked how he always wanted to walk her up to her door, she thought it was sweet of him and it showed how he cared.

They made small talk as they headed up in the elevator and soon found themselves stood outside her door.

"Thank you, for tonight. I had fun. It was good to go back there" she told him, smiling at him.

"Thank you for coming. I'm glad my first time going back there was with you, I've always kinda seen it as our spot I guess" he told her, blushing slightly as a smile appeared on his face.

"Me too. I'll see you Friday then?" Ava told him, grinning from ear to ear.

"I'll see you Friday" he beamed. They pulled each other in for a hug and she placed a gentle kiss on his cheek before pulling away.

"YOU CHEATED!!" Jake's voice was heard complaining from inside, causing the two to fall into laughter.

"Got visitors I see" Crawford joked. Ava rolled her eyes jokingly.

"Jakes been over all day and Colby then joined so then two and Tara have been non stop playing Mario Kart against each other...I'm presuming they're still doing it" she laughed.

"Alright, well I won't keep you out here any longer. I'll text you tomorrow. Goodnight" he told her.

She told him goodbye one last time before heading inside her apartment and seeing the three of them doing exactly as she guessed. Still competing on Mario Kart.

"Seriously guys? How are you not bored already?" She laughed, walking over to them and joining them on the couch.

"Ooo!! Spill the tea! Spill the tea!" Tara clapped her hands together, pausing the game as they all turned to look at her.

Ava laughed a little and shrugged.

"I don't know, we just hung out I guess..." she trailed.

"Well did he say anything?" Tara asked, not allowing her roommate to leave out any details.

"I mean, he told me he never lost feelings for me...and he knows he fucked up...and that he's willing to do whatever it takes to rekindle things. He doesn't mind being patient with me either. I don't know he was just so sweet and cute, everything he said seemed so genuine" Ava smiled to herself, feeling the butterflies erupt in her stomach.

"Aweee. So cute" Jake spoke sarcastically, earning a slap on the chest from Tara.

"He also invited me to the barbecue and bonfire on Friday. You guys going?" She asked her friends curiously.

"Yeah I am" Colby nodded.

"Yeah we are, so are the others" Tara nodded, meaning Sam, Kat and Corey.

"Thank god, it's still a little awkward with me and the group I guess so I'm glad my actual friends will be there" Ava said, more the less laughing to herself but genuinely feeling more relieved.

"Yeah don't worry, we got you" Colby reassured her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

Meanwhile, Crawford had just got himself back to the KnJ house where he often crashed instead of staying at his own place.

"Hey man, how was your little date" Corey teased his best friend as he joined them all in the living room.

"It wasn't a date, but yeah I had fun" he blushed, pushing Corey away from him in a joking manner.

"Did anything happen?" Kian asked, being nosey as per usual. Crawford shrugged and grabbed himself a glass of water from the kitchen.

"Not really, we just spoke about what we felt and wanted and agreed it's gonna be a slow process for things to happen, which I'm fine with. I also invited her to the gathering on Friday" he explained.

"Is she coming?" JC asked curiously. Crawford nodded.

"Yeah she seemed pretty up for it" he spoke.

"Awesome, because I still feel like not only you have making up to do but so do we" he laughed lightly, the others agreeing.

"I still haven't even seen her...I wasn't at the party so she probably hates me" Chelsea spoke; standing beside Jc.

"Nah she don't hate any of us. I'm pretty sure the only people she hated were myself and Emily and she's already fine with me, still not a fan of Emily but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't agree to come on Friday if she didn't wanna be around y'all" Crawford reassured his friends, them all nodding along.

"Yeah, she said she's more the less over it when she was in the car with me the other day" Franny added.

"Yeah exactly, so just relax" Crawford shrugged.

"But wait, I invited Emily to come on Friday..." Franny panicked slightly, looking between the boys and Chelsea worriedly.

"I'm sure it'll be fine, they'll just steer clear from one another..." Corey persuaded.

"Let's hope cos otherwise that's just super awkward" Crawford laughed, sipping at his water some more, earning laughter from the others.

"Yeah, it'll be chill" Kian shrugged before walking away with Bobby and watching some TV on the couch.
