WARNING ⚠️: Straight Steve
"Before class ends I have to remind you that Prom is coming & if you haven't already, forms are in the office. Fill it out & turn in to Mr.Parker's classroom by Friday." You rolled your eyes as you tried to tune him out by sketching in your notebook. The thought of prom absolutely disgusts you because every year you don't have a date so you don't go.
"Hey, who're you gonna ask to prom?" Your best friend, Steve, was sitting next to you. He has been your ride or die since before you could walk & has stuck with each other ever since. "I was thinking of asking my couch, he's such a nice guy & we hit off the second we met. We also slept with each other. Sorry, I didn't tell you." You showed Steve a sarcastic smile & he looked concerned for you.
The prom itself didn't really disgust you. It's the fact that the guy you really want to go with is straight & would never have thought of asking you. The guy is Tony Stark who is dating Pepper Pots. You couldn't dislike her, she's such a nice person. "You could've said you weren't going, but you should totally go Y/N. It's our last year of High School & your best friend is gonna be there." Steve did a little dance while he pointed his thumbs towards himself. You were less than amused at the sight.
Despite Steve being your ride or die you actually never told him your feelings for Tony Stark. You thought it might've stirred up an awkward conversation because you like guy instead of girls like him. You've gone as far as knowing that you've fell in love with the guy & you've been hurting ever since your confession, but to you the pain always felt when you would make scenarios in your head that you & Tony would be doing alone.
"I'm going to give you 1 reason why I don't wanna go & 1 reason why that's a bad idea. 1, just because you're going to be there doesn't mean you'll be with me the entire night. 2, I don't want to be alone at the table while everyone is dancing the night away with someone they're dating & I'm very single."
"I'm single too-" You cut him off by holding a finger up to his face & you sighed sadly. "You are single, but need I remind you that I have a best friend that's very handsome & could get any girl he wants." Steve softens his face to feel that sympathy for you. It's not the first time you got like this, it also doesn't particularly pertain to prom. It's dating in general.
