The next morning, Jeremy is up and reading his ancestor Johnathan Gilbert's journal to Julia "I live in fear. It consumes me. In the early evening when I see the sun begin to fade, the fear comes, because I know that the night brings death." Jeremy continues to flip through the pages of the journal. He finds a loose paper with a sketch drawn on it and becomes inspired, he pulls out an box from his closet and grabs an old sketchbook from it. He sets the box down and grabs a piece of charcoal. Flipping through the sketchbook, Jeremy sees all the old sketches he used to draw. He smiles at the memories and finally finds a blank page. He starts recreating the loose sketch from the journal, Elena walks out of her room and glances into Jeremy's room. She walks over to the doorway and sees Jeremy sketching, Julia spots her and walks over to her. Elena smiles and quietly closes the door. Downstairs, Jenna is getting ready to leave "Jeremy's got his sketch pad out." Elena tells her. "You're kidding?" Jenna asks. "Nope. But don't say a word. The minute we encourage him, he'll put it away." Elena responds. "Psychology major. Check that!" Jenna says causing Julia to roll her eyes. Elena looks at her phone "You and Stefan? Update?" Jenna asks. "He knows how I feel and where I stand and I know where he stands but it doesn't matter. He's leaving, moving away." Elena explains. "Where is he going?" Julia writes. "I've stopped asking questions. The answers get scary." Elena opens the front door and the three walk out of the house. "Yours leaves, mine returns." Jenna tells her. "Logan?" Elena questions. "He's back. I didn't let him pass the front door." Jenna explains. "I hope you slammed it in his face." Elena says. "Ah, medium slam." Jenna responds. "Three strike rule, Jenna. You're not even aloud to watch the news." Elena tells her. "Exactly. No more Logan 'Scum' Fell." Jenna agrees.

Julia, Elena and Bonnie are walking down the hall and see Caroline and Matt together "Did I miss something?" Elena asks. "They've been hanging out." Bonnie tells her. "Kind of weird, don't you think?" Elena asks making Julia roll her eyes. "She needs someone nice like him, as opposed to a homicidal vampire like Damon." Bonnie says, Julia glares at them. "Yeah, how are you doing with all that?" Elena asks. "I'm freaked out. Damon attacked me. I could be dead right now. But I'm also grateful." Bonnie explains. "Hmm?" "To Stefan. He saved my life and... Have you seen him?" Bonnie asks. Elena removes her scarf and goes over to her locker throwing both her scarf and bag in her locker "Not since he told me he was leaving. For all I know, he's already gone." Elena says. "He wouldn't leave without saying goodbye." Bonnie tells her. "Yes, he would. He thinks he's protecting me. Clean break and all that." Elena explains. "So, what are you gonna do?" Bonnie asks. "What am I supposed to do? I've already begged him not to go. If I ask again, I'm being selfish. It is what it is." Elena shrugs. "Maybe it's for the best." Bonnie says. "What? Why?" Elena asks. "I mean, what kind of future could you have had with him, even if he stayed?" Bonnie asks. Suddenly, a banner falls down on them that says 'The Promise of your Future.' "Did you just...?" Elena asks. "No, I swear." Bonnie promises. Elena sighs and hits the banner out of her way, storming off to her class. Julia rolls her eyes and follows after Elena and Bonnie.

Later Julia is watching Tyler and Matt play basketball "So, what's up with you and Forbes?" Tyler asks. "Nothing's up." Matt responds. "I saw you two in the hall today, so did Julia. Don't even try to deny it, bro. You're tapping that." Tyler says. "No, it's not like that." Matt tells him. "Never is. Until you become 'we' people." Tyler shoots the ball and scores a basket, Matt grabs the ball. " 'We' people?" he asks Tyler. "Yeah, 'we can't make it to the party' 'we'll never miss a game' 'we don't like the color red.' " Tyler explains. "We hung out, like, twice." Matt shoots a basket and scores, Tyler catches the ball. "Like he said 'we'." Julia writes showing him. "Ty can you walk me home please Elena's disappeared on me and Jeremy is at home today." she writes showing Tyler and giving him the puppy eyes. "Yeah come on squirt." he says smiling at her as she goes and gets her bag. "You going to tell me what happened the other day? You know the reason you aren't talking anymore." Tyler asks her as he walks her home. "I tried to kill myself a couple nights ago because I feel like no-one needs me anymore. Vicki's gone, Matt and Bonnie barely talk to me, Caroline never really talks to me. Nearly everyone is acting like I don't exist. Elena doesn't really pay me any attention now Stefan is round." she writes. He looks at her and pulls her into a hug "Listen here squirt. We are going to go by town and I'm going to get you a phone. This way if you ever need me anytime day or night you can ring me okay. Just don't hurt yourself you are worth so much more." he tells her. She nods tears in her eyes as she hugs back "Now then let's get you that phone." Tyler smiles.
