There are really times that we act so impulsive. We choose without thinking thus later on we question our choice. I was upset that Jao really left me behind—scratch that. I am more than upset. I am also anxious at my state that I might bump into someone I don't know and something bad might happen. I guess, the latter is on the process.

Nang magpakilala si Joann sa akin at sinabing ihahatid niya ako ay nagdalawang-isip pa ako ngunit kalaunan ay sumama parin sa kanya. Wala naman sigurong masama dahil kapatid ito ni Jao. I realized too that I don't know that Jao has a sister. And what's confusing me is that his sister knows me.

"Tahimik mo naman." Napalingon ako kay Joann na nagda-drive. Ngumiti siya sa akin ngunit nag-iwas lang ako ng tingin.

"You know me?," I asked.

"Yeah," agaran niyang sagot. "Friends kayo ni kuya 'di ba?"

"Hmm. We're friends. He's my doctor too."

"May sakit ka?"

Bahagya akong natigilan sa tanong niya. Hindi ko inasahan na hindi niya pala alam. Ibig sabihin ay hindi sinabi ni Jao sa kanya ang tungkol sa phobia ko? To think of it, Jao respected my privacy. It's my story to tell after all and also, I appreciate that he didn't tell his sister about me—somehow.

"Paano mo nalaman na nandoon ako?," pag-iwas ko sa tanong niya. She glanced at me but went back again to the road.

"Just a hunch," I can clearly see her face grinning. "May I ask?"

"You're asking."

"Do you have a girlfriend?" I was taken aback by her question. What's with people today asking about relationships?

"Wala," maikli kong sagot. To be honest, Joann is easy to be with. She's acting close yet knows her place. Magaan ang personalidad niya. She looks harmless too.

"Do you like my brother?"

"What?," kumunot na talaga ang noo kong tumingin sa kanya. "N-No," pagtanggi ko.

She smiled. Hindi ko mawari kung anong klaseng ngiti iyon at kung para saan iyon. I can't clearly read her.

"Why are you smiling?," hindi ko na mapigilang magtanong.

"Wala lang po," nakangiting sagot niya. Kahit hindi ako kumbinsido sa kanyang sagot ay nanatili nalang akong tahimik.

The whole ride was silent until we arrived at my house. I stepped out on the car and looked at Joann once again.

"Thanks for the ride," tipid akong ngumiti sa kanya.

"You owe me. Singilin nalang kita sa susunod ah?," she said with wide smile. She's always smiling.

"Okay," tanging sagot ko. Pinagmasdan ko ang papaalis na sasakyan ni Joann. Nang hindi na ko ito makita ay napabuga ako ng malalim na hininga. Umigting ang panga ko at mariin kong ipinikit ang mata dahil sa umaapaw na naman na inis.

That fucker really pissed me off.

Jao

I arrived at the Thanatos mansion not in the mood. It is visible on my face. I just found myself driving straight here, annoyed at everything.

Why is this door not automatic?! Fucking annoying!

Dumiretso ako sa opisina ni Kyle.

"At last—where's my food?!"

Hindi ko siya pinansin at isinalampak ang sarili sa sofa. I rested my head on the seat, calming myself. This is annoying as fuck.
