I can clearly hear my heavy breathing as I am scanning the area. Sumisikip ang dibdib ko dahil wala akong makita. Binabalot ng kadiliman ang paligid ngunit ramdam ko na hindi ako nag-iisa.

Where am I?

I can hear the sound of every step that I make. I turned around to look for something, something that means anything.

"Do it."

Napahinto ako dahil sa narinig. Awtomatikong napalingon ako sa aking likuran upang mahanap ang nagmamay-ari ng boses na iyon. My face was filled when confusion when I saw a woman standing in front of me. Her built is familiar but I can't see her face.

Who is she?

My head jerked at the back when I heard a chuckle of a man. Katulad ng sa babae hindi ko rin maaninag ang mukha nito.

Who are they?

My head's spinning that made me close my eyes. When I opened them, the surroundings change.

Nasa isang kwarto ako. I think it's a basement. Madilim parin ang paligid ngunit hindi na katulad noong una. May kaonting liwanag na pumapasok sa loob, sapat lang para makita ko ang paligid.

I stepped on the area and stopped when I saw someone at the corner. Napalunok ako ng makita ang isang nakahigang babae. May edad na ito at sa hindi malamang dahilan nakikita ko ang ina ko sa kanya. But I know that she's not my mother. Patay na ang ina ko, it can't be this woman.

I slowly stepped closer to the lady. I want to check if she's alive. I can see blood stains on her shirt and her eyes are close.

"Ma'am are you okay?," tanong ko sa babae ngunit hindi ko sigurado kung naririnig ba ako nito. I lifted my hand and was about to reach her when she suddenly moved her head. Napahinto ako sa gagawin at pinanuod ang babae. She moved her head and looked at...me?

No. She's looking at my back.

"Stay there...please...don't—

Hindi niya natapos ang sasabihin dahil naubo ito. I can see how she winced because maybe of he pain on her body.

"M-Ma'am..."

Nanlaki ang mata ko nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses mula sa likuran ko. I can't be wrong. I know that voice! Mabilis na lumingon ako sa likuran ko at tama nga ang hinala ko.

I can't believe what I am seeing. I am looking at my young self whom in a state of being helpless.

Why am I remembering these?!

My breathing starts to become heavy. Blurry images flashed on my mind in a fast motion. Even voices are filling my head. Napalunok ako at napaatras habang sapo ang ulo. Palipat-lipat ang tingin ko sa babae at sa batang ako. Nanlaki ang mata ko nang makarinig ng putok ng baril.

My heart's thumping loudly as everything started to spin.

I want to wake up. I need to wake up!

Napabalikwas ako ng bangon at habol ang hininga nang magising mula sa isang panaginip. I am catching my breath and I can feel my heart beating fast. Punong-puno rin ako ng pawis. I gulped and wiped my sweat with the back of my hand.
