Stepping out of the ship into the cold air of Kijimi brings goosebumps all over your body. You hate cold, but you guess it makes sense, since you only felt the suffocating warmth of Jakku before joining the Ressistance.
You haven't been paying too much attention to the mission or Finn and Poe's words, but you do know that the way 3PO was programmed doesn't allow him to translate the Sith words on Ochi's dagger, so now you're looking for a translator.
Poe seems to know Kijimi way too good. He sneaks around small and dark streets, carefully avoiding Stormtroopers that took over the whole town. You, Finn, 3PO, BB-8 and DO silently follow him around.
After finding out from his old very "friendly" friends that Poe used to live on Kijimi and earn his living as a spice runner, you had to kick everyone's asses in order to calm them down. You earned Zorii's trust and she took you to a translator.
"Taking out the translation from your droid's memory might be dangerous for him. It will cause a complete memory wipe" Zorii explains to you. "Are you sure you want to do it?"
You, Poe and Finn exchange painful looks, wondering what to do.
"There has to be another way" you whisper.
3PO notices the panic in your eyes, he thinks for a second and then speaks:
"There isn't, this is the only way. And I want to do it. I want to help my dearest friends."
And with that his decision was made, Babu Frik starting to do his job. Once you get the location of the Wayfinder, Babu Frik brings 3PO to normal, if you can call it that. Just as Zorii told you, 3PO doesn’t remember any of you and your heart sinks at the sight of the confused droid. But you don’t really have time to think about that, as you hear Zorii announcing that a Star Destroyer just entered Kijimi’s atmosphere. Finn confirms that it’s Ren’s Destroyer and you can feel his presence in the Force. Cold, dark, full of anger and hatred. But it’s not his presence that makes your eyes widen. You push Zorii and Finn out of the way to get a better look of the Star Destroyer.
There’s no doubt now, you know whose energy is that. Your heart starts beating faster, and your lips curl into a grateful smile.
“Chewie…” you simply say.
“Y/n, what the hell are you talking about?” Poe asks.
You turn around to look at them, happily pointing at the Destroyer.
“Chewie! He’s alive, he’s on the Destroyer!” you yell excitedly, as everyone around the room stares at you as if you were a crazy person, so eagerly showing them the way to their death. “I’m positive, he’s in there” you complete, convincing them.
Poe and Finn take all their stuff and tell the three droids to follow them. Zorii tries to stop Poe, but when she realizes his mind is made, she hands him something you can’t really see. Poe asks her to join you, but she refuses, to which you can see sadness appearing on his face. You like the chemistry between the two of them, you’re sure they would make a really cute couple, but it really isn’t the moment now.
Convincing the Stormtroopers to take you to Chewie by using the Force was easier than you thought. Leia taught you how to do it, but you never actually used it on anyone. But the boys don’t seem to know that, as their shocked faces make you silently chuckle.
You’re glad you left 3PO, DO and BB-8 in the ship, as you can move around way easier and faster. But you know that your paths must part soon, as you feel the vibrations of the dagger close by.
“You go find Chewie. We’ll meet at the Falcon” you inform them.
“What? No! We have to stick together” Finn says, stopping on his tracks.
“We need the dagger, Finn” you add, just going the opposite way from them.
When the door opens, the Force surrounds you in such a different way. There so much Darkness in this room. But it somehow feels soothing, like it’s protecting you. You look around and you know that this has to be Ren’s quarters. But you don’t forget what you came for, and as soon as your eyes land on the dagger, you grab it and prepare to leave. But something won’t let you. There’s something drawing you back, like it’s calling onto you.
You turn around and follow the call. Then you see it. The skull. It’s sitting on a pedestal, quietly looking at you. You know what it is. You can feel Vader in it, his presence, his power. You approach it, impossible to resist its calls, you want to know what it has to tell you. But a voice stops you, making you flinch.
“Where are you, Y/n? I’m getting tired of this chasing game” Ren’s voice fills your head.
You turn around and look at his lifeless mask. His fists are clenched, you know he really had enough of it. Taking a step away from the pedestal, you never look away from him.
“I guess you don’t really get the game, Ren. I’m not supposed to tell you, it would destroy the fun” you arrogantly smile at him, to cover your fear.
“I’m not having any fun here” he continues, just as plain as before. “I thought you wanted to find out the truth about your parents. About who you are and where you belong. I have all the answers, Y/n.”
You stare at him, your eyes poised with hatred. You know he’s trying to manipulate you, he wants to make you angry, he wants to use your emotions to make you slip your location, but he won’t get what he wants.
“I don’t need any answers from you” you simply answer.
“That’s because you already know the answer. You know who your parents are, search your memories” he pushes.
“Stop it!” you yell, igniting your lightsaber.
You want him to shut up already. You don’t want him playing with your mind, you want him to leave you alone. You attack him, but he blocks your lightsaber with no difficulty. You can see his dark eyes through the little space of his mask. He’s starring right into your eyes, waiting for you to crack.
“You know, Y/n. You don’t need me to tell you that they were…”
“They were no one” you bitterly interrupt him, still pushing your lightsaber into his. The light coming from the two weapons is blinding, but it doesn’t break your eye contact.
Ren pushes you further and just awaits your next attack.
“They chose to be that way. To protect you from Palpatine. He was hunting you and they left you behind for Palpatine to never find you” he continues.
Your veins are boiling with anger, your hands are shaking from the adrenaline, your teeth are clenched. His words hurt you, they cut through you skin, into your muscles and organs, just as the flashbacks of you crying and screaming after your parents fill your head. He knows the effect he has on you and he enjoys it.
“I said stop!” you charge again, but he just moves from your lightsaber’s way and you almost fall on the ground.
“Palpatine killed them” Ren finishes.
You make a painful sound, almost like a growl. You turn around to face him again and run towards him.
“There’s more you need to know” he tells you, as your lightsabers clash again, in a dance of red and blue.
As Ren uses his lightsaber to push you to your left, both your weapons hit the pedestal. It crumbles to the ground and Vader’s skull falls at Ren’s feet. He looks down and then he looks at you and you can almost see him smirking behind his mask.
“So that’s where you are. I’ll come tell you the rest of the story”
Before you can stop him, he breaks the Force contact. You really need to learn how to do that yourself. But if Ren thinks you’ll stick around for him to come find you, he’s very wrong, even though a part of you really wants to wait for him, to see him again. You run out of his room, towards the Falcon.
