I hurried home as quickly as I could without getting a ticket for speeding. And I hoped to hell that Robby was at the apartment because I was about to explode. The insane chemistry that I had with Kyle was off the charts and my heart still hadn't calmed down from him asking me to dinner tonight. He'd be picking up in an hour, so I had to get ready quickly.

The keys to the apartment dropped from my hands twice before I stopped myself, closed my eyes and forced my body to take a deep breath. The date couldn't happen if I died from lack of oxygen to my brain.

Once I was in the apartment, I ran straight to Robby's room where he had his headphones on playing some kind of zombie game. He jumped a mile when I tapped him on the shoulder.

"Fuck, woman. You scared the hell out of me." He tossed the headphones on the bed. "What's up?"

"He asked me out. He's taking me to dinner in an hour and I'm freaking out. I mean, this isn't a mistake, right? It's not too soon?" He pushed me backwards on the bed and made me sit down.

"Whoa, you are spiraling. Just calm down. This is a good thing, honey. And yes, you're ready to date, especially when a man brings this kind of a reaction out of you. This is a man that I cannot wait to meet."

Robby sat down beside me and placed a comforting arm around my shoulders. "Thanks for being my rock."

"I'm always here for you. Now, what are you gonna wear to dinner? Did he say where he was taking you?"

I shook my head. "No, he just told me to dress comfortable. Nothing fancy."

Robby grabbed my hand and led me to my room, opening my closet door. He pulled out a few items before shaking his head vigorously when taking out a white tank top with some jean shorts. The tank top slightly showed off my stomach.

"You don't think that's a little too comfortable?" I asked, holding the tank top up to my chest.

"Of course it is. That's why it's perfect."

"I think I need something a little more conservative. After all, even though he said nothing fancy, that doesn't mean I need to dress like a teenager hanging out at the mall while scoping out the guys."

"That sounds like a brilliant idea. Let's forget about Kyle and go do some scoping." Robby winked, helping me relax more. I'd be lost with my best friend.

"How about this?" I held up a red and black checkered, button-down shirt with a pair of jean shorts.

After Robby looked it over, he nodded. "That looks good, but make sure you leave a couple of buttons undone. Then you can watch him to see if he tries to sneak a glance at your goods."

    I giggled, "You're too much."

He nodded, "I'm gonna get back to my game, and you get ready. Do you want me to size him up for you when he picks you up, or just keep to myself in my room?"
