Renjun went back home that day, unlocking the door to his house as he stumbled in.

"Mama, your handsome son is home!", he yelled.

"Don't get so ahead of yourself, child", his father came and smack him on the back of his head.

"Ah... wait baba?", Renjun widened his eyes. "You're back already!?"

"Who else is in front of you, then? A spirit?", he chuckled. "Hello, son"

Renjun hugged him tightly, happy to see him again. Breaking apart the hug, his mom came as well and planted a kiss on Renjun's cheek.

"Hello dear, go clean up will you?", Renjun nodded at his mother's words and went up to his room.

Opening the door to his room, he closed it behind him as he laid his bag down. Falling onto his bed, he only stared up at the ceiling.

Don't get him wrong, he misses his father but that's the last thing he's thinking about.

"Jeno, Hyuck and Chenle...ugh", he covered his eyes using his forearm, feeling tears.

"What are they all doing this for? I don't want to go back!", he exclaimed.

"Not just that, I'm scared...scared to go back", tears finally falling.

Getting up from his bed, he looked down. Wiping away the tears harshly, he tried hard but to no success as they only continued falling.

"Forget me already...why is it so hard?"

Jihye came early as always, and today felt different because she felt brighter than usual. She doesn't know why, but after getting a well deserved rest she just feels like she could dominate the whole world already.

Humming a song, she entered the combination and opened her locker. Paying most of her attention to getting the stuff she needed, she didn't even realize a presence coming near her.

When she finally did, she looked up for a bit before turning around not ready to think of what it could be.

Only to be pushed against the locker, Jihye felt a weight against her. Or to be more precise, a body.

The blonde hair of this boy didn't make it hard to tell who it was, and she grew worried seeing him in such state.

"Injun? Are you okay?"

Head hung low, Renjun slowly looked up. Jihye felt her breath caught in her throat as she noticed the close proximity, and also on how badly Renjun looked right now.

"Renjun...where did you even get all these bruises?", Jihye asked, worried as heck. "The last time I saw you like this was...", she trailed off.

"Was when I first saw you"

Renjun didn't bother to reply, and instead took his arms to hug around the girl's small body. Jihye had eyes big as saucers, not knowing why he was acting like this.

"Help me...", he weakly called out. "It hurts...", his head laid onto the girl's shoulder, soft whimpers slipped from his lips as he sniffed.

"Are you...are you crying?", Jihye asked in disbelief. The boy that was known to not have any emotion at all, was finally breaking down in front of her.

"It hurts...so much...", was all he could weakly say.

Gulping, Jihye swung Renjun's arm around her shoulder as she held his waist hoping to be able to bring to the infirmary.

Luckily she actually was able to do so, as she opened the door and made sure to lay down the tired boy on a bed. Looking around, Jihye huffed when she realized that it's too early for even the nurse to be here.

"Well, I have to do this myself then", Jihye rolled up her sleeves and went to the cupboards, taking everything she needed in order to treat the boy's wounds.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she firstly took a wet tissue and wiped his tearstained face. Her heart ached, and hoped that he was still okay because this was the first time she saw him like this.

Hearing soft snores, it was clear that Renjun had dozed off making her job a bit easier. She cleaned the wounds, disinfected them and gently put on bandaids.

Jihye suddenly ponders if maybe he got hurt anywhere else on his body too, but blushed thinking she'll have to unbutton his shirt to do so.

Nevertheless, she didn't stop and tried to check for injuries on his hands and arms just in case. A gasp was heard from her when she saw even more bruises on the arms.

"What happened, Injun-ah...", she whispered to herself as she started treating the other wounds as well.

"I got into a fight...", was all he could say.

"So you're awake now", Jihye eyed him. "Does it hurt anywhere else?"

"Probably my upper abdomen..."

"O-oh", Jihye stuttered. "Okay then y-you should take it off", she said as she turned around.

After Renjun told her that he was done, Jihye inhaled deeply as she turned to face the now shirtless boy.

Not hesitating even once, she treated the wounds and made sure everything was bandages properly. After some time, she was finally done.

"Okay, and that should be that last of it-", Jihye raised her head up, only to have her breath hitched.

Literally only centimeters away, Renjun had his head hanged low as he stared right into her eyes. His blonde hair fell in front of him, covering his vision a little but still doesn't block the fact that Jihye was beautiful to him.

Jihye could feel his calm breathing against her, feeling heat rise up to her face. Staying still in the exact position for a while, it didn't break until Jihye slowly retreated.

Putting everything back in its place, Renjun got up and put his shirt and blazer on again. The two remained silent, until Jihye decided to turn around and leave.

But not until Renjun grabbed her wrist, and pulled her towards him. Not able to respond quickly, she was met with his shoulder. A hand on the back of her head, and a forearm around her waist.

"Thank you", was all that Renjun said, sighing in content.

"Thank you so much, Jihye"
